Old Time Hollyhocks

Let's wrap up this busy week with Flowerful Friday and some pretty Power Poppy Old Time Hollyhocks.  This is a digital stamp and one of many I printed a while back and have not yet colored.  They're all sitting in a box and I love to look through them and take my time choosing.  It can be hard to narrow down the choices.

This one was printed on Neenah Super Smooth, so I colored with Copics and then stenciled the background.  Truthfully, it didn't turn out as pictured in my head, but certain things went wrong and... well... you know how it goes.  Products are listed below.

Whether end of summer or stepping into fall, my Power Poppy teamies have been coloring some lovelies to show you.  See here:

I'm so glad you stopped by.  I just want to say how deeply sorry I am for the hardships all are facing due to the fires here in the west and the crazy weather all across the country.  Some of the smoke settled in on us here and it gave me just a hint of how awful it is for those who are closer to the fires.  Hugs to all!

Stamps:  Power Poppy Old Time Hollyhocks digital stamp  Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White, scrap designer paper  Ink:  Printer, SU Pool Party  Coloring:  Copics  Other:  Self adhesive silver border strip, Carabelle Studio 'Tricot' stencil

Beautiful. The hollyhocks look fabulous. Did you use just the one shade of pink and layered it? I need to try that but never done it yet. I like the way you added the textures with the sponging, beautiful!

Oh Leslie, your hollyhocks are GORGEOUS! That was my grandmother's favorite flower and I have a photo of her in your hollyhock garden ... they were as tall (or taller) as her. The photo is in b/w (no color photos back then) but I hope they were as beautifully colored as yours are. Made me smile ... thanks!
Stay safe my friend ... I can't even imagine what all my west coast friends must be going through right now! HUGS

Hollyhocks are so pretty. I just love how you colored these in your card and how you did the background as well. We have seen such terrible pictures of the fires. We of course are listening to the 9/11 tributes. I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing that terrible morning. We lost a close friend in the towers that day. His daughter was only 2 months old. Living in NJ at the time and seeing all the cars unclaimed in the parking lots is a sight we won't forget. Too much tragedy! Be safe!

Your hollyhocks are lovely and I like the stencilling. I do like a bit of texture in my "white" space. The sentiment is something we all need to remember. Happy Friday.

Well, my dear, the devil is in the details. Love the preety piece of blue pape with the tiny edger and the added poitalism around the flowers adds so much to your beautifully colord flowers. another masterpiece.

Isn’t it intriguing the way we have ideas which don’t complete the way we had hoped? My first impression was... OMG! How incredibly soft and beautiful your cards always bring me joy, but the PP cards always ALWAYS make me sigh appreciatively with your special versions and interpretations of Mother Nature. It’s truly gorgeous!

Gasp!! I am just lost for words on this one, absolutely gorgeous! The colour combination, your design, the stenciling, WOW!!!! I'm not sure how you planned this to turn out, but it's gorgeous! I hope you are far enough away from the fires in your state, thinking of you, take care Leslie!

I looked really hard to see what went wrong but totally missed it :) Love those wonderful holly hocks.
the smoke has drifted by us in Vancouver Canada, but I'm with you I can't imagine what it would be like to be in the middle of itXX

Beautiful old fashion hollyhocks so beautifully colored with Copics. Love how you added the stenciled soft background, dots and pretty paper strip down the side. A beautiful sentiment too! TFS my friend. Love and Hugs..I have been staying inside since, Tuesday except for a quick trip to the garden to pick veggies..wearing one of my c-virus masks with a filter..at least then I can't smell the awful smoke. I keep thinking of all those who have been dealing with the smoke for months and those that have to evacuate or on stand by and the those poor folks losing their homes or businesses in the fires. Who would ever guessed that 10% of the Oregon population has had to evacuate with a moments notice. Love and Hugs..to everyone. Nancy
