Trees 4 Sale

Hello, and welcome to a new week!  I'm back with more Cottage Cutz Christmas today -- three cards with the Trees 4 Sale die.  It's another new-to-me and not-yet-used die from a January order.  As I've mentioned a time or two, I have a weakness for Cottage Cutz dies and, in fact, another order is on its way -- 13 more dies.  Seriously, the prices in the sale category... you can sort "low to high"... it took a lot of restraint to whittle my order down to 13.

It's a one-piece die, but when colored it appears to be a bunch of little pieces all put together.  I made a simple background of Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink, blushed on with a make up blending brush.  Coloring was done with Copics.  The Snowflake Banner is by La-La Land and appears to be retired.  I had 3 that a friend had cut and sent to me.  Now I have none, boo hoo.

You can't see much sparkle in the photo, but the red star on the tree is covered with red Stickles glitter.  I did my best to keep it simple.

Did you see that Darnell re-started her NBUS Challenge?  NBUS:  Never before used schtuff.   Whatever it is, doesn't matter how long you've had it, if you haven't used it yet it's NBUS.  All challenges are anything goes.  You can read more on the challenge blog.  I have plenty of NBUS, such as today's Trees 4 Sale, so I'll be playing along a lot!

Pictured below are my NBUS dies.  I make an envelope for every die, same size as the Memory Box and Poppystamps envelopes.  Therefore, the dies in the stack are from miscellaneous companies.  Uniform size makes them easier to store.  If it's bigger than A2 size, it goes into a 5x7 envelope.  They are all indexed in bins by category and easy to flip through to find something.  I tried magnetic pages in a folder and it just didn't work for me.

As of this writing I'm still waiting for the new Cottage Cutz order to arrive.  I know!  Sometimes I feel sheepish about the excess and that's why I have to get serious about whittling down this NBUS pile.  This is just the dies.  The stamps are another whole story.

Wishing you a very happy day!

These certainly look like many pieces the way you have colored them so beautifully!! I loved seeing your NBUS stash and see a few I have myself...my Cottage Cutz order came and now I want MORE...I just love their dies, so fun!! I did order a lot of the smaller ones as they come in so handy and then always treat myself (on sale of course) to a bigger, little bit more prices one, it's sitting on my work table right now waiting to be put to use!! Have a great day...I will be outside all afternoon in my 'gardens of weeden'!!

You assembled such a CUTE scene, Leslie! I know what you mean about adding so many inexpensive items to a shopping cart, then having to whittle it down. I have not placed an order yet, but see {too many} things I want from Gina Marie Designs die assortment. Will have to wait. Sigh.

So cute, Leslie! Not only do I admire the darling scene and pretty colors, but that your fingers are able to apply those tiny paper pieces to specific spots, right down to the red mittens! Love these! Great sale finds, too! hugs, de

Such a cute design. I love Cottage Cut dies too. They are so detailed. I am pleased to say my NBUS pile is very small. I think I only have two and none on order. Most of my funds are going into Copics and refills. Congrats on three more cards done. BTW the challenge at DD is banners. You should link up.

Right now you'd be at the top of the leader board, my friend, lol!! Enjoy your time at home and take care!! Hugs, Darnell

Super cute and cheery Christmas card design. I can see why you loved getting dies from that company. I have an order on the way too but I think I stopped a little sooner then you. But you are an enabler as one I ordered was from the card you made in the previous post.

What beautiful cards. I like that you created three of them. I might need to start doing this. I have a lot of unused dies too that I am trying to use my unused ones too!!

Such an adorable card. Love that it is all one die so not a lot of work putting it together. I have a lot of NBUS stuff. I do belong to a Challenge Your Stash group, so I get to use some of those things on that challenge. Glad to see you stamping and staying well.

That die is so adorable Leslie and your colouring is spectacular. Great to see you adding to your Christmas card stash :)
yes I'm with you about thinning out my stash, but there is always the urge to buy more- we have to keep the economy going in our own way during this strange time of COVID-19 :)

that is a cute die, you colored it up awesome, and I so love that snowflake banner too :) You did a great job with the shading of the background. Fabulous job, one of my favorites! you had me go and look, but I feel like I shouldn't put in another order, I have an Impression Obsession order coming.

Beautiful Leslie! You have some of the most adorable dies in your collection. I love the way you have showcased your die cut snowman, so sweet he is and the salty ocean background (love this shade of blue). Your little snowflake banner is so perfect to complete your scene. I popped over to Cottage Cutz to see what great bargins I could find. Found lots but the shipping is almost $40 CAD, way too much, the shipping is more that the dies! Can't justify that! I look forward to many more of your Cottage Cutz cards. So wonderful to see your post today Leslie, hope you have a wonderful day!
