Monday Fun Day: I Fell off the Diet Wagon

Happy Monday!  Need a laugh?  Art Impressions girlfriends met up with Riley & Company Funny Bones for this one:

There's something about staying at home that makes me want to cook and bake yummy things.  It's not hard for me to ignore all the store bought treats Rich enjoys, but when something is homemade my brain tells me that if I went to all the trouble to make it, I really should eat it.  Darn brain!

Additionally, a flare up of sciatica is making any exercise difficult.  I still walk, but not far.  It mostly hurts in my hip and knee and I'm sure hoping it's only sciatica.  Actually, it's getting better, so I'm eager to start on longer walks and some big jobs outside.  I've been on the diet wagon and it's not a fun ride.  I'd rather burn off the calories... wishful thinking, probably.

If you want to sit in front of your computer and laugh out loud, just check out more Riley & Company sentiments here.  The girlfriends are from Art Impressions Laughing set.  I haven't had them very long, but I've colored them many times already.

Oh, by the way, I used Tombow markers for watercoloring, and the border is Lil' Inker Silly Stitched Die Set.  Rhinestones from my stash.  I hope you're smiling!  Have a great day!

Such a cute card and I do love the sentiment. A sore knee and sciatica is my story also. The knee has really slowed me down but I still manage to get my chores done. I have put on some weight which makes both these problems worse! But I'm 70 so I try not to whine too much!

I have a friend who this fits perfectly!! What a fun card and sentiment! I joined the same exercise class as she did and then it promptly closed for lock down... I continued to watch the intake and lost a stone but she's gone the opposite...Hopefully we can get back to class some day... Be safe and well my friend and thank you so much for your kind comments on my not so perfect watercolours...

This is hilarious. I sure got a giggle from the sentiment too. I make our meals to be only so many carbs. That way we don't go overboard most days at least. But I hear you when it comes to homemade goodies. Especially the day I bake them. Chocolate chip cookies are the best when still warm and the chocolate chips are nice and gooey. Yum!

Yes, a really good laugh! I need that on a Monday morning. I'm really wanting to bake something yummy, but, like you, I'm trying to slim down and not eat so much of the sweet stuff. I'm thinking of baked donuts. I've gone back to WW in the hopes that tracking will help me to not overeat.

Yes, this certainly made me laugh, been there many times, so I can relate! Leslie your sentiment goes so well with the AI girls, and colouring is spot on as always.
Oh I hear you about being at home and baking, it's so hard to resist home baked goods. I've been on Keto almost 2 yrs now, I do bake keto style occasionally, but it's not as good as the real thing! Not good news about your sciatica Leslie, I know how painful that can be, and how it can limit you from certain things. Touch wood mine has not surfaced for a couple of years! I hope you get some relief soon.
Be safe and have a wonderful day, and thanks for making me smile. Loved seeing your card today.

I needed a good laugh - that is hilarious! I love the sentiment about buying the cupcakes. I too have been cooking more and unfortunately eating more!! Rachel came for dinner last night and of course I had to make her favorite foods. I did make her take them home though! Something must be in the air as my sciatic has been killing me lately as well. Maybe too many craft hours!! Take care and be safe!

Oh my gosh!! This is a riot, Leslie, my sentiments exactly, hahahahahaha!!!!!!
It's hard to stay on track nowadays, I'm thankful for my treadmill but I would love to go swimming.
These gals from Arts Impressions are absolutely darling and that sentiment fits them to a T, plus your coloring is always impeccable and always brings your images to life, I can almost hear these sweet friends laughing out loud!!
I did go check the link for the sentiments, each one is hilarious.
Thank you for sharing.
Stay healthy, fit, safe and keep on crafting.
XO😷
Maria.

Oh, my goodness! Two great stamps put together for an awesome bit of fun and laughter! Love your coloring. Hope you feel better soon. Leslie, I had sciatica years ago and it is so painful - it almost put me in a wheelchair. But I was treated by a chiropractor and now I go once a month to keep it in check. But now with lockdown, I have not been but so far with stretches and walks it seems to stay in check - so far. Great card, stay well. Hugs

Loved your laugh out loud card, Leslie. That sentiment is a gym...whoops meant a gem:-) I have been baking too. In the last 8 weeks we have had a new cookie recipe..deelicious, but tossed the recipe..too sinful. My favorite forever Cinnamon Swirl bread recipe. It makes 2 large loaves with cinnamon sugar, butter, craisens and more..one loaf went right into the freezer for much later. We did manage to make the 1st loaf last several days. We had one piece a day toasted..mine was a thin piece and Denny's a thick piece..then I went for my 4 mile walk and Denny for his run. A couple days ago I made my favorite Kathy Rose oatmeal cookies with craisens recipe. Again most into the freezer. I get one a day and Denny 2 or 3. But I am already thinking of another recipe I want to try later..Norwegian rhubarb cake. Our rhubarb is almost ready to pick and it is a small cake...does that count?

Sorry to hear your sciatica is acting up. Maybe too much sitting. Yoga and walking everyday are the best for my sciatica, especially since my Chiropractors office has been closed for weeks.

Anyway...all this chatting...Thank you again for the laugh. Stay safe and creative, my friend. Love and Hugs..Nancy

OMG thanks for the chuckle Leslie! These ladies always remind me of my mom & her 8 sisters ... the sentiment sounds like something they would have said & done! LOL
Beautiful coloring ... this fun card pretty much says it all right now! LOL
Hope your hip/knee feel better today. After sitting on the mower for 3 hours over at Mom's yesterday and then driving back home (hour & a half) ... I could hardly move! LOL Awww, the pleasures of aging LOL. HUGS & Good Health to you!

I love these girls and the way you have colored them up, that sentiment is just too good! I agree I can ignore store bought cookies especially but when I make them I think I went to a lot of trouble for these, plus they taste a whole lot better :)

Sorry to hear about your Sciatica bothering you, I have suffered on and off with that for many years. This is not the time when we want to be outdoors fussing around in our gardens, hope it clears up soon!

It's funny - and very well done - but all too true. :( I'm afraid I've terribly fallen off the wagon, too, and the wagon is on fire. Good luck with your sciatica. Bummer!

This made my laugh for the day...oh so VERY true!! We all need a little humor to keep us going and how perfect this is for where we all are now. Another fabulously FUN card!!

I had plenty enough chuckles reading this fun post, Leslie, love the card! Sorry to learn of your sciatica that is no fun! I'm with you being tempted by all these pictures of sweet results of stress baking. I've eaten almost no sugar or white flour for most of the past year and a half but I may just need to bake a batch of cookies!

I wasn't just smiling, I was laughing out loud, Leslie! This gets more and more true as I get older and especially during a pandemic. On the other hand, those girlfriends never get old!! Take care and keep safe. I hope your sciatica settles down soon! Hugs, Darnell
