Double D Challenge: Birthday

Hello and welcome to another Double D Challenge!  Our theme this time around is "Birthday".  One thing is a given --I can always use another birthday card!

Our mood board shows many possibilities to inspire you.  We have humor, or watermelon colors, or spa-type girly stuff, or black and gold with a touch of pink.

As always, we'll have creative winners plus a prize for a random winner:

For my card I went with the black and gold for a relatively simple card using a stamp that hasn't seen the light of day for a while -- a 2002 PSX birthday cake (no name on the block).  Embossed in gold, minimal coloring...

I made a loopy border and loopy flower to match the cake.

Hop over to Double D to say "hello" and be inspired by the variety of team samples.  I hope to see you in the gallery!  Have fun, and enjoy your day!

Stamps:  PSX cake (no name on stamp)  Paper:  Fabriano Artistico Bright White watercolor, Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White, black, pink, gold mirror  Ink:  Versamark, Tombow markers for watercolor  Accessories:  Black rhinestone, Ranger Queen's Gold embossing powder  Dies:  Frantic Stamper Livermore Loop, Tutti Designs Celebrate Word Set, Sue Wilson String Flowers

That loopy design on the left makes me think of a spiral notebook. The stamp is so artsy and I love that you get it out for this challenge. The pink and black are so feminine looking and make a fun card.

How sweet and delicate, Leslie! I wanna go to this party! The border is wonderful with those perfectly lined up pieces, and the sweet loopy flower! I miss PSX - I believe they did not make a stamp I didn't like. The gold embossing is fabulously sweet on the cake, and the yellow around your lighted candles makes it feel like they are dancing! Beautiful card, Leslie! hugs, de

Gorgeous CAS card, Leslie! Those borders you have down the side are amazing. I love the black design. Is it a punch? Beautiful birthday cake stamp, especially embossed in the gold.

I love this simply decorated cake card. Especially as it is pink my favourite colour. Have taken a tour round your stamp room which certainly isin’t small and looks very organised. Have just revsmped my own craft room and trying very hard to kelp it clutter free. The temptation after a days crafting to leave it all out is a hard one to refrain from but I am determined to keep on top of it. Hugs Mrs A.
