It's a digital stamp which comes with several pre-colored versions for super quick cards. I colored this one with Copic markers and will be using it as a Thanksgiving card.
The top of the tag seemed like a good place for a button, so I handmade my own with circle punches. It's not that I don't have buckets o' buttons, but I wanted one that's less dimensional and easier to mail. Honestly, you'd never know it wasn't a real button.
Here's what I did:
- Punch 2 holes in card stock with 1/4" circle punch.
- Center 1/2" punch over the holes and punch again. Now I have the two rings.
- Punch another 1/2" circle. Glue all three together.
- Color if desired. I used a slightly darker color in the center.
- Pierce button holes (2 or 4).
- Coat with Glossy Accents. When dry, pierce holes again.
I threaded linen thread through the holes. The recessed center means no added lump from the thread. Additionally, I punched a 1/4" hole in the top of the tag so the threaded area would seat down into it.
The most important thing about the button is that it was fun to make. Imagine all the shapes and sizes -- scalloped circles, squares, little flowers or butterflies, leaves, etc. Make the top layer from a small print designer paper. Christmas buttons would be cute!
Okay, that's it from me today. Moving along to the next fun project... Have a happy day!

I am lost for words on this one Leslie! Absolutely stunning! The wreath is gorgeous, and the way you coloured it up, and that button, very clever! Leslie, there is nothing you can't create, everything is a masterpiece! Love your design, the colours are wonderful, just stunning! I don't know what else to say, I"m in awe over this one! I would write more but I'm late for work! LOL. Have a woonderful day.
Wow! You had me completely fooled with the button! What an incredible idea! I never add buttons to my cards because of the mailing, but this is a whole new ballgame now! Your card is gorgeous, of course! You never make anything that isn't! I'm just stunned at your creativity, Leslie!! And now I can add "buttons" to my cards!!
What a beautiful, beautiful wreath, Leslie! And your "button" is amazing. Lovely, card.
How beautiful this is, Leslie! I love the "restraint" of the colors...rich but not overpowering, if that makes sense. Cute idea to make a paper button, and that designer paper is perfect.
This is so gorgeous and in fact, everything about it is awesome. I love a wreath too and your coloring is fantastic! The whole card layout is beautiful too.
Well you are clever I love you buttons. Gorgeous colors and coloring on this great fall card.
Well, blow me away! LOL (haven't heard that for a long time. Wonder why it came to mind? LOL) Such a lovely, pumpkiny, beautiful Fall wreath, perfectly bespeaking Thanksgiving! It's gorgeous (and I forwarded your blog post to the artist who will also swoon). With Halloween over, are you sure you're allowed to "trick" with Christmas being so close? You don't want to be on the naughty list, do you? But you certainly tricked me with the button. WOW! It looks so real! Thanks for the tutorial. Loveliness, Miss Leslie! hugs, de

Then to find out how cleverly you made it! It's so FUN to visit your blog, Leslie! Can't wait to see the next project!

Your wreath image is so beautiful and of course your coloring is Stunning, my friend. A few years ago I made several buttons (probably still have most). They were fun to make. TFS your button and the reminder..that I should look for my buttons:-) Hugs..Nancy
Leslie, you are right, this is such a pretty wreath, I really should checkout digital stamps :) I love that wood grain background.
that's a beautiful wreath. Nice card. Have a great day
So elegant and stylish! Wow!
Leslie, you are so clever! I would have not known that wasn't a real button had you not told us! Seriously, what a great idea. I'm so glad I've had the quiet time this morning to really get a good look at your cards. This is another absolute stunner! I smiled when I read that you let your autumn defenses down and purchased several new autumn digital/stamps. So did I *hahaha* I wanted to increase my Fall/Thanksgiving collection too. I really love how you've colored this too. I love the off-set of the tags on the wood (did you sponge the bottom of the wood or did it come this way?). The entire piece is so nicely done. The repeat of orange throughout is beautiful. And your photograph is so crisp and clear - that in itself is a masterpiece! Beautiful highlights on the wreath cane toward the bottom. and I really, really like the pointillism around the wreath. Another spectacular card, Leslie! You are such an inspiration.
Hugs,
Susie ~
Leslie, the wreath image is beautiful but your Copic coloring brings it to life. It's so pretty and bright. I love the layered tag design and your hand-made button! You inspired me to make one. :-)
The woodgrain card base is perfect for the wreath and the organic-feel photo styling is fantastic!

I am so in love with this card Leslie... The colours are stunning on that gorgeous stamp and complimented all the more by your design and choice of bg paper. I can't believe that is not a real button ... You amaze me!
Beautiful! I see cotton everywhere in decorations...such a fun trend. What a great tip on making a button too!!
What a gorgeous wreath! And so beautifully colored! Love the orange bow, the wood background, and that homemade button! Genius! I don't like using button because it makes mailing more complicated, so this is a great solution!
There is something about this wreath... its awesome! I like the layout and your coloring rocks. Now I have to go get this digi wreath, its awesome.
