Did you stamp Saturday for World Cardmaking Day? I sure did! Spent most of the day in my newly revamped stamp room and, gosh, was it ever nice. Everything so tidy and organized and uncluttered. All that space to move around in. After the new window is installed and painting done I'll have a hard time ever leaving it.
I'd like to use my "retro" stamps more. I got reacquainted with them when I was purging and making tough decisions and, honestly, many of them do seem brand new to me after lying dormant for so long. Years ago I did a brief stint on Rubbernecker's design team, during which time I received a bag full of loose, cling mount stamps. I've kept most of them, and Saturday I decided to use one for old time's sake. I don't remember the name of the stamp as it was not packaged when I received it. I thought the butterfly (Rubbernecker) and the sentiment (Fiskars, also several years old) made a nice combination. This is a birthday card, by the way.
I stamped in Versamark, embossed in gold, and watercolored with my Gansai Tambi paints. Made the background wash first, then painted the butterfly image, touched up the background a little more, and finished with a few splatters. The photo washed out the gold a little, but it looks very gold in real life.
A vanilla card base is covered with older 7 Gypsies designer paper. I wasn't going to add the string (more of my Fun Fibers) but I saw the current Retro Rubber Tie Me Up Challenge and decided to go for it.
All those Rubbernecker stamps that weren't being used because they were jumbled together in a bag and I couldn't actually see what they were... I grouped them into mini-sets, stamped an index sheet for each and placed them in these clear boxes I've had for years.
I tell you, I'm an organizing fool lately! Have a good day!

Oh my goodness - sounds like you are getting way too organized! Good for you! Love the butterfly card and the coloring! I really like the sentiment. They have such great sentiments today for stamping.
Wow! It's gorgeous and the fiber is just perfect for it. It really makes the color of the butterfly pop. I really think that you need to send me this card since it is my birthday month and I am the Butterfly Queen! LOL! It's great that you've gotten so organized. You'll have to post some more photos once the window gets put in and it's all painted.
Fantastic card with gorgeous colors!! That stamp is the coolest! So glad you found it in your organizing and have it where you can find it again - soon! The ribbon, by the way, took this card over the top and was the perfect touch!! Thank you for playing along with us at Retro Rubber and hope you will be back in our gallery again soon.

Wahhhhhh! My comment disappeared! Not very nice, google!
Wonderful "new" stamp sets, Miss Leslie! Fantastic idea of putting them into mini sets. Those sets are definitely cute and timeless! Your cards always wow me, and this one goes a bit beyond. Gold embossing produces an elegant look all its own. But combine it with the light whimsy of watercolors, and you have created something exquisite and fun all at the same time! Beautifully done, my friend! hugs, de

I am so glad that you found Retro Rubber and decided to add the fun fibers (reminds me of some of my old knitting fibers!) to play along with us! Hopefully we will see you often in our gallery!!
Leslie, what a gorgeous card with this butterfly, and the colors are stunning with the gold embossing! WOW! And I love this quote...it's so perfect for a birthday card. Beautifully done and absolutely fabulous use of your paints. And the fun fibers was a great finishing touch! Hugs!
Hi Leslie, sorry for the late comments on your cards this week. Bill and I have been away since early Monday morning and just got home late last night, so trying to get caught up on everyone's postings. Love this card, so soft and pretty, almost a dreamy effect. The colour wash over the embossed image really makes the embossing stand out. Gorgeous image! Great idea to store your unmounted images. Beautiful card!
THis is a great idea, Leslie! I never really know how to store my Rubbernecker stamps.
