Double D Challenge: Music Theme

What a fun challenge the Double Ds have for us today!  It's a music theme, as I'm sure you've already determined, but there are so many possibilities -- sheet music, musical instruments, singers and songs (be sure to tell us which song you've used) -- let your imagination have fun with it!

As always there's a prize for a random winner.  Today it's a cool Spellbinders Cable Knit stencil.  Creative favorites are voted on by the team.

At this point I'm taking every opportunity to get another Christmas card done, and I had all kinds of fun putting this one together.  I've used a Memory Box bear, landscape, and sentiment, with an oldie music border die overhead.  The music border had been cut from an inky, glossy background and set aside, forgotten, long ago.  It's what determined my color scheme, and I'm all the happier for it!

You're probably familiar with the song, "Winter Wonderland".  My bear might be happier on an ice floe, but she seems to be enjoying the current change of scenery.  What's a winter wonderland without a little sparkle?  You may not be able to see it in the photo, but I added red Stickles to the holly berries, and Diamond Stickles to the landscape.

Sometimes card making is almost too much fun!

Have a look at the fabulous inspiration the Double D team is sharing.  I hope you'll sing along with us!

Have a beautiful day!

So cute, Leslie! Love this winter scene with Mr. Polar bear happily skiing through the woods. The soft inking in the background really adds to this serene setting. Pretty pink accents and that music border is awesome! Lots of fun details with the sparkle and little birdies.

Too, too cute Leslie~ Your skiing bear looks quite happy to be drifting through the snow. I'm not quite ready for that, but I'm glad you're getting a jump on your Christmas cards. It's perfect for this challenge.

I am glad for this post and that you got to make another Christmas card for your stash. Using a piece that had been forgotten is a bonus. It was an opportunity that a wise crafter like you took and made a fun Christmas card. I adore that bear and that you had so much fun making this little piece of art.

This card is wonderful. I love the soft blue on the snowy background and the tiny bit of blue on the skiing bears hat. The pink brings a lovely vibrancy and movement to the scene. I can imagine he is skiing away to his favourite Christmas song. That would be such a hard theme for me, but you have nailed it perfectly xx

This really looks like a fun project to make. Your bear is so cute and the music border is just the right touch. I've got to get started on my Christmas cards. They are not going to make themselves.

I can just imagine you smiling the whole time you were making this card!! :) Love that sweet skiing bear, with the adorable smile on her face! :) And want could be better than pink winter finery to keep her warm and toasty while out in the snow. I love the musical notes with the singing birds perched on top that are perfectly paired with your sentiment. Now I have that song in my head! :) xx
