Guesting with Color Hues Challenge: Blue and Red

Hello crafty friends!  I'm having some fun today -- guesting with the Color Hues Challenge!  I was so pleased with the invitation and couldn't wait to get started.

As you can see, our colors for this challenge are blue and red, with neutrals welcome as well.  I can't help but think "nautical" when I see these colors, and I had the perfect guy for the theme.  I'm so glad to bring him out for his first play!

I joined the Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Club just so I could have the Shipmates set.  I definitely do not have a Walrus in my collection and I think he's so cute!  There's a seagull in the set, too.  Quite a deal I thought, and bigger than I expected.  He fills up the card quite nicely!  The anchor and sentiment are separate.  I fell back on my trusty (older) Mintay Marina paper for the background.

Check out the amazing samples by the Color Hues team, and then show us your blue and red.  It'll be fun!  Have a happy day!

Stamps:  Stampendous Ocean Sayings  Paper:  Stampin' Up Brilliant Blue and Real Red, neutral color scraps, Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White 110 lb, Mintay Marina designer paper  Ink:  Real Red for sentiment, other matching for sponging  Dies:  Spellbinders Shipmates, Memory Box Stitched Circle Layers, KaiserCraft Anchors  Other:  Scotch brand foam mounting tape

Ohmygosh, Leslie! Your decision to go in a nautical direction is brilliant - and how wonderful that your handsome, dapper Salty Walrus is making his debut for this challenge. From the sailing boats background, to the anchor, to the porthole style frame, you've created the perfect stage for your star-of the show. Truly marvelous in every way; thank you for guest designing with us.

Congrats on your GD spot at colour hues. Don't red and blue make a fabulous combination and perfect for your walrus. He is just great. This year I failed to manage to keep up with blog land and have my grandkids to stay! All back to normal now and we all had a nice time, it just takes me a while to recover! xx

Congrats being asked to be a guest on their blog, this little guy was a great choice to use for your color combo, I like how he has a pipe just like the old sailor pictures :). Those papers work great with him and I love the anchor and the helm for embellishments. Fab Card!

Oh my gosh, Leslie! Your sea-faring character exhibits the fashion runway with blues and reds in amazing vibrancy! LOVING his contented expression. Quite the talent to have those tusks while puffing his pipe! LOL SO SO SOOOOOOO cute without being cutesy! I especially like the "planks" behind him. Congrats on your GDT gig. SUPER fun card! huggers, de

What's not to love about this fella and his 'toothy smile?' How wonderful! LOve is seafaring outfit and pipe - those Mintay papers were meant for him, too!
Congratulations on being the Color Hues guest of honor, my friend!
