Hello! Easter is done and now on to Christmas. Well, not really, but it's time for me to get some cards done, so I looked to the Christmas Kickstart Challenge where they're asking for Poinsettias. I made three cards with dies.
The first is Altenew's Poinsettia 3D. Cut from designer paper, and brushed with ink. The background is embossed with Spellbinders Christmas Wrap Pattern embossing folder, also brushed with ink. Other parts from my stash, most notably the ribbon (!). I still have a lot of ribbon taking up valuable craft room real estate. Every few years I purge a little more of it.
The next card is very simple, with a Memory Box Poinsettia Ribbon that's been in my collection for years and it's seen a lot of use. I cut an extra from patterned paper for the petals. They're lifted at the tips, but it's not apparent in the photo. The flower center is a punched circle coated in gloss. Gloss on the red berries, too.
Last is actually the first card I made in the group and I would have been happy making all three like this, maybe different colors. I cut the Tutti Designs Poinsettia Corner once, coated it with Versamark ink and embossed in gold. Embossed the sentiment the same. The center panel is Cougar Natural cardstock. I gave it dimension by layering a few strips of cardstock behind it. Not so much as foam tape, but it makes a difference. The card base is brushed metallic, a soft gold.
Christmas Kickstart Challenge #97 -- Positively Poinsettias
The landscapers are finally here to put our yard back together after the sewer line repair, and we have out of town visitors today, so I'm in a bit of a rush just now. It will all come together eventually. I hope to visit everyone soon, and be back here later this week. Take care and enjoy your day!

What a trio of loveliness Leslie! The Altenew Poinsettia is probably my all time favorite Christmas bloom and you've used it beautifully here with all the added texture and dsp!! I love the simplicity of the gold Poinsettia too, and yes, it would be beautiful in different colors...lots of options there! Lovely, lovely cards my friend, and YAY for adding 3 more cards to the Christmas stash!! Hugs. :0)
Love them all but please Xmas... Give me spring... We got a touch of snow I see on the roof tops but thankfully only wetness on the ground. Have a great day
Leslie, you know by now that Poinsettias have a special place in my heart! Your trio today makes me very happy! The Altenew one is a favorite, for sure - LOve the splash of deep red you've give it today! I haven't seen your Memory box ribbon [at least I don't think I have?] is that grosgrain ribbon die cut?? Looks amazing!
Finally, all this gold makes for a very elegant, super classic Christmas!
All gorgeous!

All 3 of these are perfect little Christmas cards. I love the dark green, red and white contrast on the first, the beautiful cas nature of the second and all that gold on the 3rd. You are definitely on a roll. The addition of the ribbon is very pretty too xx
What an amazing trio of cards, Leslie! Your first poinsettia is a classic, so elegant and regal on that deep green background. The second is such a cutie with it's striped petals and your clean design. And then there's the shimmering beauty of your gold version. I can't pick a favorite, they're all fabulous!
I'm so glad to see these fabulous cards today, Leslie! Your frequent posts have kept me inspired and I need to do a few Christmas cards also. I love them all, but the gold toned poinsettia card is my favorite! You've inspired me greatly today!
Oh wowzer, what a wonderful selection of poinsettia, all so classic I love them ♥
Three poinsettia beauties, Leslie! I always love the red poinsettias but your gold caught my eye this time! I need to get started on my Christmas cards!
Wow, Leslie, what a gorgeous selection of cards! Bobby really picked a fun theme with poinsettias. All your cards are beautiful but card #1 is a showstopper and I can see the 'lift' at the end of the flowers. Thanks for joining the fun at Christmas Kickstart, hugs, Jo x
Three great varieties of poinsettias to ponder on. The depth of color on the first card takes my breath away! It is so beautiful with the rich embossed texture behind it and the strip of pretty Christmas ribbon on the left. Even the gold cyathia in the center of the flower is gorgeous. Your other two cards are equally as sweet and beautiful. Great job getting a jump start on Christmas.
Beautiful <3
Would you mind to tell me what DSP that you used? Your poinsettia card is absolutely gorgeous!
I'm totally impressed, not only by your cards but that you made THREE of them and all unique and beautiful in their own way! Hope you had a nice Easter, I had cards sitting out to mail, they are still sitting here, my life story!
Three lovely poinsettia cards Leslie. Especially love your first one with the dramatic, deep red for your die-cut poinsettia. It looks amazing against the deep green embossing. And I LOVE that ribbon. So pretty! Your second card is so sweet. Love the striped patterned paper for your sweet poinsettia. :) And your third card is so elegant with all the gorgeous gold. Great work, my friend! xx
Way to add so much JOY and PEACE to your Christmas stash, Leslie. ; ) That filigree gold is absolutely gorgeous and the CAS card lovely in its simplicity, but that big red one that looks like velvet is spectacular. Thanks for sharing that one with Jo and me at Christmas Kickstart.
I sure hope all went well with your yard. and are enjoying your time with your guest.
Your cards are just lovely, Your first flower is just gorgeous with those papers, love that fancy ribbon with it, such pretty design.
Love the fun look to the second flower, and pretty gold touches to the 3rd one, that die is so pretty with it's swirls!
Such a pretty grouping of Xmas cards. I especially love your poinsettia with the embossing and DSP. I always say it but you are so good at making your Xmas cards.
Three beautiful cards. I am in awe of the first one with the Altenew poinsettia. It looks like velvet with the pattern paper you used and the background is lovely with the curved die and rich green embossed layer. The ribbon you added on the side is a nice touch too.
Three oh-so-different cards, and all SO beautiful!! You are so good. :-)
These are all just stunning! Glad I don't have to pick just one!! lol
