Hello everyone. Today I'm sharing a card I made for my friend's birthday. It's a 5x7 card based on the fabulous creation I came across here. The crafter, Sam Calcott, shares a video for an easy pop up vase card. Her instructions are easy to follow and the design, which I believe she learned from another crafter, is clever. After going back and forth from computer screen to craft table I decided not to do the pop up, but the card is still quite special.
I've used Penny Black flowers, Memory Box butterflies, a Spellbinders embossing folder, Poppystamps bow, Impression Obsession sentiment... the usual kind of potpourri that goes into a card. It takes a village.
I stamped in Memento London Fog and colored with Copic markers. I made a little arrangement for the front, and the circle aperture gives a sizeable peek at what's growing inside the card.
Open and see the planter box and sentiment with more of those lovely Canyon Butterflies. I used a circle die to cut a dip in the planter box so it wouldn't be visible through the front window.
I was planning to link up to The Flower Challenge for their 100th post celebration, but been so busy and coming up late. However, after encouragement from some teamie friends I'll do that now. They're asking for circles and I do have a circle window on the front of my card. Thanks, friends!

This is gorgeous Leslie! I just watched the video too. What a fun idea making the vase pop, but it's equally as beautiful when it doesn't pop. I love your use of texture and those sweet butterflies. Your friend is going to love this card and your thoughtfulness.
Love everything about this card. The flowers are beautiful. I think I need todo something with them… love the under the circle popping out. It just all pleasingly comes together. Have a great day

This is such a special card. Those flowers look stunning. I love how they peak through the window and the embossed front works brilliantly. I might have to try and find time to watch that video xx
What a lovely card! I love it particularly the colors you used.

I LOVE the way you've colored these flowers, Leslie! And what a great way to place them to peek through to the outside and fully decorate the inside! Those butterflies and sweet bow are icing on the cake! A truly WOW card, my friend!

Oh my that is gorgeous, bummer that you couldn't do the pop up but this turned out wonderful, I love the basket inside and the great idea you had to use a circle die so the basket didn't peak through :) Pretty embossed background, sweet butterflies and I love the bow to top off the bouquet! Lovely coloring!
