Yogi's Flowers

Hi all!  Some coloring happened in my stamp room.  It took three sit downs, but mission accomplished.  Pain and numbness creep up on me when I stick with it too long.  There's plenty I can do, not complaining, but adjustments must be made.  Enough about that.

The flowers on my card were hand drawn by my long-time blog friend Yogi.  She knew how much I admired it and then kindly surprised me with a digital copy for my coloring pleasure.  Thank you, Yogi!

I lightened the image for no-line coloring, then printed on watercolor paper.  However, this is not totally a watercolor.  The background shading is watercolor, but Copics were used on the flowers.  The sentiment is an old woodblock stamp.  Border was drawn with a gray marker.

Every time we send a hand crafted card we send a portion of ourselves.  I hope snail mail never goes away.  Have a wonderful day!

Stamps:  Digital flowers hand drawn by a friend, Great Impressions sentiment (old woodblock stamp)  Paper:  Fabriano Artistico Extra White 140 lb hot pressed watercolor, dark gray Bazzill cardstock base  Ink:  Printer, Ranger Archival Watering Can  Coloring:  Copics for flowers and SU ink for watercolor background, SU gray marker for border

Oh that was so sweet of your friend, she did a beautiful job with it and you brought it to life with your wonderful coloring of it. Sorry the process takes you longer but glad that over time you can still get it done. I love the way you make your own frames, it just finishes it off. I might have to give that a try some time when it looks like it needs a finishing touch :)
Gorgeous card, and I agree I hope snail mail never stops!

Wow! This is gorgeous. Your friend, Yogi, has some serious drawing talent. And, of course, you have your own talent which is giving those flat images a new life. Glad that you were able to work through your issues and create this beauty.

How delicately beautiful, and so bursting with life, especially with your vibrant colors and highlights, Leslie. The sentiment is perfect for the splash of life shown on your masterpiece - flowers truly DO give more than merely a portion of themselves for all living creatures, and without a single thought as to what they are giving! I hope the same can be said for me. SO LOVELY. Yogi was certainly kind in sharing her artwork with you! In turn, thanks for sharing it with the rest of us! (had my MRIs, and am recovering from that - seeing specialist on 7/11 - should be a lucky day, right? LOL) xx

Wow! So beautiful Leslie! What an awesome gift from Yogi! Your colouring always make your florals so life like. Love the bit of blue shading, the border, as well as the sentiment, so fitting. Your card is so dreamy, I keep looking at it. Sorry your feeling some discomfort when creating, but I must say, perseverance paid off.
Your card would look lovely framed! Have a wonderful day Leslie, and thanks again for sharing.

This is just so beautiful. I am so sorry that colouring for any time is difficult for you now because you are such an expert, but I am glad you can still do it in stages. The joys of getting older I suppose. I love the soft blue background, the hand drawn frame and the little splashes of pink, perfect. What a wonderful sentiment too xx

What a special gift, Leslie! And you've colored them beautifully! I agree that each card is a gift of ourselves whether we mail it or share it on our blogs. When we do both, is a double special gift! I find that I have to keep adjusting myself and so thankful I can still spend time creating.

You, and Yogi, have been very generous with your gift today, Leslie! Beautifully colored - I have a thing for 'shiny' berries!
It's the sitting at this desk that causes issues for me - we've got to move it, move it! xx
