Hydrangea And Rose

Happy new year everyone!  I made every effort to get here to send my very best wishes to all for a good 2022 -- health and happiness and all things positive.  December was a bit rough at the Miller house.  My husband got some distressing news from the doctor, and then his sister died.  I won't dwell on those things here, but do want you to know we're okay for the time being.  It was important for me to free up my time and make my attention available when and where it's needed so I stepped down from all design teams.  Crafting has been spotty, but immensely enjoyable when I can get to it.  We must have our therapy time, right?

******************************************************

I have two cards to share today.  The Pinkfresh Hydrangea and Rose stamp set and matching dies have been in my NBUS basket for a couple of months with multiples stamped and embossed and ready for color.  Finishing these two cards felt like time well spent.

Spare parts were utilized for both cards.  For this first one the whole card base was already done up with embossing and patterned paper border -- not sure why it was rejected originally -- and I simply added the frame, flowers, and sentiment banner.  The frame and banner were made with some of my original Spellbinders dies which I still use often.

For the second card I lightly stenciled a background, then added the cardstock strips (spare parts) with flowers, butterfly, and sentiment.

There's a lot more to this stamp set which I'll get to later but my basket is spilling over with things I have yet to use.  Moving on...  Thank you so much for your patience and concern.  It's good to be back today.  Again, happy new year!

Stamps:  Pinkfresh Hydrangea and Rose  Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80 & 110 lb, scraps color cardstock, gold mirror CS, scrap patterned paper  Ink:  Versamark, Ranger Adirondack Sandal, SU Always Artichoke  Coloring:  Tombow markers and blender solution  Other:  Sequins, gems, gold self-adhesive trim, Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder, Cuttlebug Anna Griffin Wildflower Gate embossing folder, unnamed stencil, Spellbinders oval and tag dies, Impression Obsession Medium Butterflies

Hello Leslie, it's so good to see a post from you, my friend, I know you've been worried about your husband and I just want to let you know how sorry I am for his loss, let him know I'm praying for him and his family.
I'm going to miss seeing your wonderful creations on all the DT challenge teams you stepped down from, but I do understand that your time is precious and family always comes first.
Both these cards are gorgeous, your sense of color and design shine through on each one of them, love the gold embossing, it always takes the stamped images to a high level.
Please keep taking care of yourself, stay healthy and safe.
Sending lots of love.
XO.
Maria.

I was so happy to get the notification of your post! Your cards are so beautiful! I love the soft colors which warms my soul in this miserable weather. Remember to be kind to yourself and make time for what you love to do. Shortly after Joe's sister was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer he was diagnosed with bladder cancer. She passed within 6 months and since 2019 he has been in and out of the hospital. After treatment, he has regular checkups to monitor his cancer. One thing that helped me through everything and still does is my love for crafting. Everyone needs a little escape time now and then. I will keep you and Rich in my prayers.

So sorry for your families loss, that had to be hard just after learning of your husband's health.
I do believe that creating is such great therapy, it has got me through a few rough times as well.
Your creations are just gorgeous, such lovely flowers and leaves, with the gold embossing is just wonderful. Love the framing in the first, great frame for them and lovely embossed background and terrific coloring. I like your minimal touches of paper and cardstock on both cards, it brings just the right pop of color to them.
Wishing you a happy new year and good health and much fun crafting!

Glad to see you back in this new year. So sorry for the family loss. It's so hard when it comes around a holiday. Hope that Rich recovers and you both have a Happy New Year. Your cards are absolutely gorgeous. Of course I love the colors seeing that purple is my favorite color and I love the added butterfly. It's great when a card comes together so easily from spare parts.

Such beautiful cards, as always. I send my prayers and wishes for comfort during this difficult time. Extra snuggles with Wally and Lulu will help ease the pain, at least a little. Thinking of you all...sending love.

Leslie, my heartfelt sympathy to you and your husband. I am glad you can step away, and know whenever you are back to stamping, you have a large cheering section. Everything you make I find delight in…you are so down to earth with your selections of stamps and using what you have with creativity, beauty, whimsy…and I’ve learned a lot from you over the years!! Just love your cards, and these combinations are so gorgeous and full of spring and hope. I hope the pups are providing lots of affection and companionship. Take good care.
