CAS Mix Up Reminder: Alcohol Inks on Vellum

Hello, there!  It's time for a reminder that our CAS Mix Up Challenge - Alcohol Inks on Vellum is still in full swing till the 24th.  Coni is our host this month and she has provided a full list of video links to help first timers like me.  Cards only, keep it clean and simple, and enjoy the play!

Short on time, I used the same piece of alcohol-inked vellum as on my other Mix Up card, but it really is such a pretty piece.  It's peeking through a border cut with one of my oldest dies -- Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders One.  I still use that set frequently.

This card is a mini-slimline, measuring 3 1/2 x 6.  The die cut "sending" was cut from a background made two years ago, part watercolor, part Ken Oliver Yellow Gold Liquid Metal.  Cool stuff!

Stop by the CAS Mix Up blog and check out the team samples for inspiration and then play along with your card.  I'm seeing some pretty things in the gallery!  Thanks everyone, and have a fabulous day!

Stamps:  Altenew Wishing You (birthday wishes), Stampendous Birthday Smiles (candles)  Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White 80 & 110 lb, vellum  Ink:  Versamark, alcohol inks Stream, Butterscotch, Wild Plum  Other:  Rhinestone, Ken Oliver Yellow Gold Liquid Metal, Spellbinders A2 Curved Borders One, Frantic Stamper Sending Love/Hugs die, rectangle die unknown origin, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

Beautiful card Leslie, your border die lets the perfect amount of colour peek through. It's always satisfying to have an old die that always gets pulled out and used ♥

Don't you just love pulling out "oldies-but-goodies" stash? I LOVE how you incorporated some older techniques and products into newer styles with newer products. WOW! The AI on vellum certainly is VIBRANT! It's a beautiful card, Leslie! hugs, de

This is so gorgeous. All the white really makes that die cut with the alcohol inks behind it pop. Gorgeous colors too....just stunning. Wanted to also thank you for the lovely birthday card. I love your style, you have a great eye for color and design. Thanks for the inspiration, and I so appreciate your thinking of me!!!

Lovely border die that shows off your gorgeous AI vellum background, Leslie. I can see why this is one of your favourite dies ... so pretty and intricate. Beautiful paired with the gold sentiment and embossed birthday candles. xx

What a great die to showcase your fab AI piece Leslie - it jumps off the front with all that white. Love it.

Gorgeous CAS card Leslie. I am going to have to give this a try. I have used alcohol ink on glossy card stock and added a metallic ink to them and embossed flowers and colored the back but never just made a sheet of the vellum. Love the bright colors.

What a clever idea to have your AI vellum hidden behind that lovely border die and how beautifully CAS it is. Well done xx

Glad you provided a closeup of the sentiment! It works so beautifully with the card, and with that multicolor ink piece behind the curved die. All in all, a beautiful card, Leslie!

How creative to use a strip of the alcohol inks, and pretty I might add! I have yet to make a mini slimline but think I need to give it a go! Hope your remodel is moving right along for you!

Now aren't you ever clever, that is a wonderful idea to use just a left over piece for a border, those pretty colors would be very hard to throw away, you found a lovely piece to cut out your sending die with, goes so great with your embossed birthday wishes, so pretty!
