Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge, June

The Two Old Bats are at it again, challenging us to think outside the season just long enough to get one more Halloween card done.  It's not a chore.  It's just for fun, and I do have fun with it!  Here's our inspiration board this month:

After seeing the board and thinking of my collection of Halloween stamps I decided right away to be inspired by the upper right corner of the board.  I like my Halloween cards to be fun rather than scary, and this one is borderline, but more fun than scary, I think.

I stamped the house first, masked it and added a circle mask for the moon, then stenciled a cartoonish sky.  Splattered a little water on the background.  I enjoyed coloring the house with Copics in shades of gray with some black.  The witch seems out of proportion but, really, does it matter?  The witch and house are from the same Penny Black Haunted Halloween set.

If you ever make Halloween cards at all I'm sure you'd enjoy playing along with us.  Challenge yourself at Two Old Bats.  We'd love to see you there!

Stamps:  Penny Black Haunted Halloween, Whipper Snapper Spooky Expressions  Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White, CTMH Wild flower, black  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Distress Oxide Black Soot, Dried Marigold, Seedless Preserves  Coloring:  Copics  Other:  Heffy Doodle Cloudy Skies stencil, circle die for moon mask

So bright and colorful and I love the flying witch. It reminds me of a stamp I have that says "Why yes, I can drive a stick".

What a fun and fabulous card. Love the background you created and the witch looks perfect. Great coloring on the house. I find it hard to do black without losing the outlines.

That's why I like your Halloween cards, Leslie, because they are fun! The house could be a bit scary but the witch flying in the hot pink sky is definitely sassy!

You've done some fabulous coloring on that creepy old house! Love the colorful skies too with that wicked witch on her broom! This is such a fun Halloween card with great details and it's not frightening by any means. I hope your dog is doing better, it's just heartbreaking to see our animals go through these trying times.
