Flamingo and Flowers

Hi, there!  Letting the dust settle between home improvement projects . . .  It's been a while since I made a card "just because", but new stamps were calling to me from the basket.  I couldn't wait to color this one.  I spotted it when I was searching flower stamps at 1-2-3 Stitch.  This is my first Creative Expressions stamp, and it's called Tropical Flamingo.

It stamped nicely and the image is fanciful enough to allow some fun with the coloring.  I used Tombow markers and blender, giving it a loose watercolor look, but without the water.  Colors are almost the same as the package picture.  It's a little bit funky, but I love it.  For an easy finish I stenciled sunrays which go nicely with the sentiment.  This is one of those little 4 3/4" square cards that I love making.

I hope to get a little caught up with my visiting, plus color a few more things before someone comes to do the second bathroom and floors.  Maybe we'll see each other again soon!  Wishing you a happy day!

Stamps:  Creative Expressions Tropical Flamingo  Paper:  Fabriano Artistico Extra White 140 lb hot press watercolor, other white card base  Ink:  Palette Noir, Distress Oxide Scattered Straw  Coloring:  Tombow markers and blender  Other:  White acrylic paint, Black Diamond Stickles, MFT Ray of Light stencil

Whoa! What a fabulously shaded creation, Leslie, with that touch of orange/tangerine, and the blue bill! It also reminds me of the floaty toys available at the pool store. But after seeing yours, I would want mine to look like your picture LOL. The cascade of tiny white flowers in the midst of your hibiscus are incredible! Perhaps most endearing are the tee-tiniest stars, hearts and orange flowers dancing around the arrangement. I'm getting excited about your renos, and hope to see some before and afters!

So beautiful. It's a gorgeous image and you've done it up so well with your coloring. What do you like about the Tombow markers compared to Copics?

What a great card - I love everything about this. Your coloring is gorgeous and I like the image with all the pretty flowers and great sentiment. The sunray stencil is just perfect for this card. Good luck with the rest of your remodeling. At least it will be done before the hot weather comes along! Take care.

WOW, this is gorgeous, your colors are amazing, so very beautifully created! I have a couple of those stamps I have yet to use (of course) I think mine are the deer and the rabbit as scrapbookdotcom had them on clearance and I couldn't resist! We haven't done any inside projects but been working on our outside as we had some nice 80's days this week though it didn't last!!

This is a perfect stamp for you and your love of coloring, Leslie! And I love how you have colored it and added the sunrays! I'd love to have you share with everyone at NBUS if you get a chance. We are having the master bath redone, too, but not by choice. We had it completely remodeled just 14 years ago, but I guess the toilet wasn't properly installed and there has been a slow leak. Not sure yet until they start just how much damage is under the floor. Fun fun fun! I hope your renovations have been going smoothly! Hugs, Darnell

I'm glad you were able to take a little break and create this beauty before the renot's start again. Leslie, I love when you create. So happy to see this today! Take care,
