Two More for Christmas

Hello and happy day to all!  In spite of the new order of things due to COVID, this is still a busy time of year.  I've been totally focused on getting the Christmas cards finished and in the mail (I waited too long!), but I believe they're all done now.  Today's cards are the last of them.

Altenew emperor penguins with a Power Poppy sentiment is up first.  I made three of these.  I dearly wanted to add white snow splatters, but then I thought about how rarely it snows on Antarctica, so I left them off.  Silly of me because it would have been so much prettier, I think, and when you're the card maker you can do anything you want, right?  Next time they're getting snowflakes!

(Stamps:  Altenew Warm Hear, Power Poppy Simple Joys sentiment  Paper:  Neenah Super Smooth Solar White  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Wendy Vecchi Archival Watering Can, DOX Abandoned Coral and Salty Ocean  Coloring:  Copics  Other:  Elizabeth Craft Warm Diamonds microfine glitter, 1" circle punch, Poppystamps Snowflake Ribbon die)

I'd planned on making multiples of the next card, but in spite of letting the designer paper do a lot of the work, the die cut sentiment made it far too time consuming.  I'll come back to this paper with a different idea later.  Turns out this is one of my favorite cards this year.  Love that Mintay designer paper!

(Paper:  Mintay Christmas Stories designer paper, Neenah 110 lb white  Other:  Amber gems, Wink of Stella on snowflakes  Dies:  Memory Box Warm Christmas Wishes and Bauble Snowflakes, Impression Obsession Small Snowflake Set, Marianne Designs Anja's Oval)

I'll be playing in my room, making cards and backgrounds and just generally having fun... when I have time... so I may pop in again before Christmas.  After all, there are still 11 days left...  Happy holidays, everyone!

Hi Leslie,
I'm happy seeing what you're up to today! Both cards are so so pretty. I think you can't go wrong either way with the penguin images. Your background is so beautifully done. I think I like it best without snowflakes! Of course you know I love the second card with the sweet deer and such gorgeous paper.Keep doing what makes you happy. We love it!

These are both so pretty, Leslie. Yes, you sure can add snow! That would be a great background. After all, who would know where these penguins live and whether it snows or not! It's amazing how long it does take to make cards with lots of die cuts. Enjoy your play time.

Beautiful pink sky and icy shelf for your sweet penguins, Leslie. With or without snow, your card is gorgeous. Your 2nd card using the beautiful pretty paper is stunning with the die cut sentiment, oval background and snowflakes. Can't wait for more cards with the amazing paper. TFS both cards, my friend. I am mailing my last 13 cards this morning and now can do a bit more baking and start on my 2021 DT cards:-) Loving the crisp sunny day...today. Love and Hugs, Nancy

Wow! Both cards are fabulous. The penguins remind me of the movie Happy Feet. Such fun. The other card is just gorgeous. I do love that paper. I got most of my cards in the mail Saturday, but still have a few stragglers to finish up and write a real note in.

Loving them both Leslie, and I definitely would have used a bit of poetic license to justify the snowflakes if I'd wanted them. That pink sky is fabulous.

OMG these are both just gorgeous! YEP ... I would have added the splatter!! Simple folk like myself didn't even realize it doesn't snow much in Antarctica! Either way, the background is gorgeous and the card is adorable! Now, let's talk about that Mintay card ... GORGEOUS! And you say the die cuts took you time? Well that's just not the way it's supposed to go ... they are to make things easier for us crafters! LOVE that paper and the dies you put with it ... absolutely stunning! I received my card just today ... thank you SO MUCH ... LOVE my Leslie Originals!! LOL Hugs & good health to you my friend!

I think they both turned out wonderful. I agree the paper in the second one lends to less work. Darling paper also. Very pretty. If I don't see you before Christmas have a very merry and safe couple of days. Enjoy the fur babies and all the joy they bring you and Rick. Merry Christmas Leslie.

Definitely go for the snow, Leslie. I wouldn't have thought it was out of place at all. Your penguins take the stage so beautifully against that pink sky! Love, love, love that patterned paper! Wow! I think this is my favorite card I've seen this Christmas!

I'm happy to be a recipient of one of the the beautiful penguin cards! The scene is so peaceful, much of that because of your choice of colors. And the sparkle under the snowflake sentiment...really beautiful. Thank you, Leslie!

Oh my the penguins are so sweet, awesome soft background to it and I love how you put the sentiment across the bottom like that, yep I say add snow next time :)
The second is just gorgeous, I do love when the papers do most of the work, your die cuts are just wonderful with it though even if so time consuming, something you can work on during the year :)

Both your cards are amazing Leslie! LOVE the pink sky for your sweet penguins. Yes, as card makers we can take license with what we add, or what colour we make things. It is part of the fun! :)

Your second card is STUNNING! Gorgeous paper, beautiful design with the added snowflakes and pretty sentiment oval. xx

I like both of these very much, Leslie! The first features your beautiful coloring, and the second is fanciful - I love that paper, too. It's whimsy all by itself!

Hope your Christmas was merry. And now, up next, Happy New Year!

Both of those are so pretty, Leslie!! I am drawn to the second because that sentiment goes so well with the feminine paper,..you are one of the few stampers I know that are able to use the designer paper so well with stamps. I applaud you for sliding strongly into the last stretch before Christmas! You amaze me!! Wishing you a safe and blessed Christmas season!
