Hello on a Tuesday, friends! I hope the weekend treated you well. Same old thing, or did you get out (safely) for a bit? It was a gardening weekend for me, but I also got to my room for a little morning playtime. Three dies from three different companies came together for this card.
That's one big fancy butterfly, isn't it? I've had it a long time and used it plenty even though it's been difficult (for me) to design it into an A2 card.
I was hoping you could see the glitter better in the next picture. Maybe not. The yellow card base is sanded Core'dinations (I think SU before they discontinued it). It was sanded and ready in my card box. So many details to mention for a card that was really quite simple. You can read more below my signature.
I'm sending my card over to the two challenges I had in mind when I made it:
Double D Challenge: Butterflies and Darnell's NBUS Challenge ~ 17. The Happy Border (flowers) is new(ish) to me and never before used.
Well, that was fun! I'll be back again when cards happen. Till then, take care and have yourself a happy day!
Additional Details:
- Impression Obsession Open Scroll Butterfly -- I cut one butterfly from 110 lb white and another from black. The white stayed together long enough for me to tape it on the back so the parts wouldn't fall out. Glued the open scroll black over the white. I see some white parts I should have popped out... oh, well... next time.
- Taylored Expressions Picture Perfect - Smile/Hello -- Colored just the "hello" with a B05 Copic.
- Joy Crafts Happy Border -- I punched 1/4" circles for the flower centers and applied Stickles Diamond glitter glue there and to the white dot on the butterfly's body.

Stunning card, loving that huge butterfly. We stayed indoors over the weekend due to loads of rain but today we have a lovely walk and tomorrow around the lake with Monte. xx
Absolutely beautiful love the gorgeous butterfly and design of your creation.
Many thanks for entering your gorgeous card into our challenge of "BUTTERFLIES", at Double D challenges…
Good luck in the draw and hope to see you here again.

That is one big beautiful butterfly and card and such a pretty pretty design with the dies! My daughter and family arrived on Saturday at the lake house and I think besides eat (hah) over the weekend all we did was hunt for beach glass!
Oh, I forgot, thank you for entering your pretty card into our challenge at Double D!!
That is one gorgeous card. YOu pulled those elements together wonderfully.
I just love your butterfly! Your simple card turned out beautiful. Your dies made it all come together. It was too hot here to do much outside this weekend. Unfortunately, Rachel's room and bathroom need to be redone due to the flooding but it could have been a lot worse if she had not been home. No one seems to be getting back to normal. Soon I hope! Take care and be safe!
WOW, love that butterfly, what an impact it makes! Not only the size but your use of the bold black for contrast. The floral border is sweet and soft and you know I love the yellow! The glitter show up nicely - a wonderful detail. A stunning card and all around great design!
So pretty and delicate. Love the colors. Hugs
This is a gorgeous card and I love especially that beautiful butterfly!
What a bright, cheery, wonderfully sunshiny creation, Miss Leslie! Don't you just love how dies and stamps come together like that? I've been wondering how your garden is faring without the shade of your tree. We have been quite hot here, with heat indices in the 100s, often up to 110. It's the humidity - yuck! But then, I wouldn't want to be in a drought at all.
I have been reorganizing my dies. It's something I've put off for a very long time, and am about 1/2 way thru. Of course the craft room is in disarray. I've been making cross-references for many of the themes so that some are ornate, large tags, but could also work well as frames, or as layers for rectangles or ovals - so I print out the picture, and put those cross references in the front of the sections. I hope to never purchase another die set! LOL
Because lots of my stamps are wood mount, I have them on shelves in theme order, but lately, I've been using plastic cases similar to those old, old SU cases to house several other stamps of the same theme in the cases, and sliding those cases in vertically to keep things organized.
My blog is broken - it won't load. I have three other blogs (2 are secret) and they all work. So I'm considering using one of the secret blogs as my new main blog. I hate to do that, though, and am hoping Blogger will get its act together. I was using the beta version on and off since January without any problems - just "issues regarding ease". But now that they have converted, my blog is broken! Sheesh! I actually do have some cards to share, but am waiting to post them, hoping to figure out which blog to use.
Even though I've not been able to leave comments, I have thoroughly enjoyed the inspiration arriving in my email box from your Running With Scissors blog and the Goldens blog as well. Keep well, my dear Northwestern friend.
love,
your dear southeastern friend
Wow! So beautiful. That is a great butterfly die and would love to see it in different color combos. I also love the flower die you used at the top. Where is that from? Gorgeous card all together.
This might be simple, Leslie, but oh, my, it is certainly majestic with that incredibly ornate butterfly. It was brilliant to do her up in black and white which looks so striking against the yellow and white! A perfect design! Thank you for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Keep well and keep enjoying those gardens of yours! Darnell GD
Oh Leslie, this is gorgeous, I love it when I can use a die that allows you to save the pieces when you cut it to create two images with contrasting colors, the combination of black, white and yellow is stunning on this card.
Love the die cut flowers on the top, a beautiful detail.
Thank you for sharing.
XO
Maria.
This is stunning, Leslie! So elegant...the black butterfly outline really pops against the soft yellow. Gorgeous! Hope you are well...
Love the gorgeous butterfly and the black stands out beautifully against the yellow background

Gorgeous. i have that butterfly die and I love it, but it is hard to make it fit an A2 card. This is the perfect design.
pretty card. I love that butterfly. Have a great day
that's a stunning butterfly Leslie, you really have made it centre stage. I love the layout :)
This is a beautiful butterfly, Leslie! I love it done in black and white! The die cut flowers are so pretty! Awesome card, my friend!
Wow that is a beautiful, delicate and elegant butterfly, but you know what stood out to me is that lovely flower border :) Love the way you used the framing with it, Love!
We have gone back to church in person :) Everyone wears a mask and they check your temperature before you come in and you don't touch the doors or anything someone does that for you. They have blocked off every other row so that we are not sitting close to any other family, maybe only half of the people have come back so it hasn't been hard, don't know what they will do if they have run out of seats but haven't had to worry about that yet.
Wow, what a gorgeous butterfly and you showcased it so well. I love the black and white look.
Well, I think you've used the butterfly beautifully, Leslie! What a very lovely card. The dies all go together so well the way you have combined them.
Stunning card Lesley, love the primrose background, perfect backdrop for your stunning butterfly.

Glitter and shine is so hard to capture but I can see it on your wonderful card...That's a beautiful butterfly!
Wow Leslie, this butterfly is gorgeous! Love the black against the yellow, just pops! Beautiful array of dies and you have worked them wonderfully together. Simplicity at it's best. Love this! Sorry for being so far behind in commenting this week. It's just been one of those hectic weeks where crafting is not at the top of the list!
What a gorgeous CAS card! That butterfly die is so lacy and elegant. Thanks for linking up to TSOC challenge. Best of luck to you!
This is a really beautiful card!
Oh another butterfly I like it. The die cuts you manage to find and use are great. I like the simplicity of this one too, very pretty.
