Songbird Birthday

I'm woefully behind in all things related to stamping and blogging.  It's summer, I'm enjoying the garden and can't seem to settle at my stamp table or the computer, and then we went camping for a few days.  It was fabulous, by the way.  Totally contactless, just the way we need it.  Bit by bit, I'm getting back into the swing of card making.  Thanks for hanging in there with me!

Today I'm sharing a card I made more than a week ago with my new-to-me Songbird Celebration set from Penny Black.  I'm loving all the stamps in that set.  This is card #2.

Copic colored, Wink of Stella on the colored balloons, a die cut balloon frame with a bit of patterned paper... I'll list all ingredients below.  It was a fun card to make!

Since this is first use of these particular stamps from the set I'll send my card over to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #16:

I'm so glad you stopped by today.  Sending hugs and good wishes to all!

Stamps:  Penny Black Songbird Celebration  Paper:  X-Press It Blending Card, Bazzill pale green card base, scrap designer paper  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black  Coloring:  Copics  Dies:  Taylored Expressions Stitched Rectangle Stacklets, Poppystamps Celebrations Balloon Collage  Other:  Baker's twine, Wink of Stella, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

Hi, Leslie - Have fun, summer should be enjoyed, and especially in the lovely environment, you live in! This card is adorable and your fussy cutting amazes me on his little feet and beak!!!! Have fun in your beautiful garden - and so happy you two got away. Soothes the soul, mind, and heart to just step back from it all!! Big Hugs

I am still in summer mode, we have a few more weeks left and I love it! So glad you enjoyed your camping. There is nothing like being outdoors to rejuvenate the spirit.

Leslie, this is such a cute combination of die and stamp. As always, it's colored beautifully and presented in the neatest "package."

WOW this is a fabulous birthday card ... Love the overall design! I don't blame you a bit for taking a 'summertime break' ... you deserve it!! I've been kind of MIA from my normal crafting routine as well. Sometimes you just need to take that time away to enjoy other things in our lives! I figure there will be plenty of crafting time when the temperatures are bitter and snow on the ground ... so for now I too am enjoying the great outdoors as much as possible ... even if that just means sitting on the deck watching the squirrels and listening to the birds. HUGS and Good Health to you!

Oh is that ever cute, I just love the way you colored the bird and such a cute sentiment to go with him. That balloon die cut frame is just perfect with this and love how you used the twine to with them, your addition of the strip of paper to balance off the card looks great!

I'm glad you're truly enjoying summer by being outdoors, and camping, and gardening. There will be plenty of time as the weather cools for you to be indoors stamping.

Your little bird is so sweet, and I love how you paired him with the balloon die. :-)
