CAS Stencil Tracing

Hello!  Yes, I'm back so soon.  I wanted to try the stencil tracing challenge at CAS Mix Up.  Sure enough, I've used another one of my Penny Black Songbird Celebrations stamps.  Hadn't really planned on it, but it just seemed to fit in the space I'd created with my traced stencil area.

The stencil is a 6x6 square called Wander & Find by Carta Bella.  Using the gray marker shown in the picture, I traced just enough of the stencil to create a partial frame.  I expected I'd be stamping a sentiment in that space (trying to keep it CAS per challenge rules), but then the bird happened.  I hope it's still CAS enough for the challenge.  In the picture below you can see the gray marker outline a little better.  Coloring is Copics.

I do really like the stenciled leaves and berries and probably wouldn't have thought to use my stencil like this were it not for the challenge.  It was quick to trace and color.  The coloring of the bird stamp is quick and simplistic, too.

Card making is bound to slow down soon, but I've enjoyed it this week.  It's been so darn windy outside in the afternoons I'm happy to stay in and view the garden through my window.  Have a good rest of the week!

I love the way you've used this stencil, Leslie! It makes a gorgeous frame for your sweet birthday bird. I really like the gray outlining of the stencil. It's subtle, but you can definitely see that it gives the leaves and berries a 3-d look. Great work! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx

Leslie, I am loving your stenciled frame and the sweet lil bird looks as if he belongs amongst the leaves and berried. So sweet.

lovely. I like the leafy stencil. I thought CAS meant single layer card with no 3D embellishes... So I think you've hit it on the mark. Have a great day

You did a great job with the stencil tracing and I am not sure I have seen that technique quite before. What a fun idea with this birdie. Might not of planned it but it works well together. Very cute.
