Christmas in July

We've reached the halfway mark, friends -- Christmas.  It's just what you want to think about right now, isn't it?  Well, I hope to be more ready than last year.  This trio of cards was made with an older Penny Black stamp called Adornment.

The first card was almost a throw away.  At this point I don't remember what I did to make myself love it more, but it's probably my favorite of the bunch now.  Stamped in light brown, Spica glitter pens were used to color the bow and baubles.  I didn't capture the sparkle in the photo, but it's lovely.  A star die cut from gold glitter paper accents the bow.

The next wreath was stamped in Versamark and embossed with gold glitter embossing powder.  I added a die cut bow for fun

Lastly, I have a wreath stamped first in green, then stamped again in Versamark and embossed in white.  A green bow was added with Wink of Stella Shimmer.  The baubles on this one were touched with Platinum Stickles glitter glue.

A closer look:

I'd like to do more with this wreath, but I need to move on.  I have so many new Christmas dies and some new-to-me Christmas digis to get to.  I'll list the main ingredients below.  Enjoy your day!

Stamps:  Penny Black Adornment  Designer Paper:  Studio Light Woodland Winter  Dies:  Impression Obsession Holiday Bottom Word Edgers, Cottage Cutz Double Stitched Square Set, Poppystamps Prim and Proper Bow, Die-namics Star Stax  Other:  Gold embossing tinsel, white embossing powder, Atyou Spica glitter pens, Wink of Stella

Love these, every one, Leslie! I think the first one is also my favorite. I think the variations of embossing and adding sparkle made this a fun craft time for you! Well done.

What a pretty wreath, Leslie, and I like all that you did with it. Love the sentiment underneath, too. I have some of those dies and need to use them! You finished each of these cards so wonderfully.

Fabulous start on your Christmas cards! I have always admired this beautiful stamp though I don't own it. You have showcased it beautifully! Sitting here my view is of the lake with a sailboat on it, 80+ degrees, maybe thinking of Christmas will cool me off!!

While all three of these are gorgeous, I think the first is my favorite too! I think that little star was the crowning touch! Love all the sparkle on the other two! A great addition to your Christmas card stash, Leslie!

What a lovely assortment of creations using that fabulous PB wreath! My first thought upon seeing your first card was - "sigh... she finds the prettiest, most delicate stamps." It's intriguing that you didn't care for it, but then you did. That happens to me a lot! It's like, why didn't I like this to begin with? They are all pretty. I especially like the artistic license by stamping with green, and then overstamping and heat setting with white EP - fabulous technique! Happy day to you, Miss Leslie! xx

You are so good at doing Xmas cards! I love the wreaths in these cards. All the different ways make the cards so different but unique! I love the embossing one especially. Embossing got me hooked on stamping to begin with.

Each card is so different but beautiful. I think I like the contrasting colors in the first one and the bow is a nice touch, but so is that designer paper. Great start on Christmas cards.

Oh wow Gorgeous, each one of them, love your framing on the first and the colors are so lovely together!
It looks so elegant in all gold too!
I so love the papers on the last one and the green stamping with the white embossing over it is such a cool touch! Pretty sparkle on the whole thing, like your stitching to go with the framing!
Love how you gave them all their own special touches!

Oh my Leslie, what gorgeous cards these are! I love them all, but it's a toss up between the first or the last as my favourite! Think I'm going to choose the last, more of a warmer feeling card with the woodgrain paper and just the colours speak to me. They are all so beautifully created with all your finishing touches! I love this wreath, I have it also and have used it many many times the first few years I've had it, but not so much lately, I need to pull it out. Gosh I can't believe we are half way through the year already. I really need to get moving on Christmas cards! Thanks for sharing today, you always inspire me!

that stamp may be an old one but in your hands it creates such beautiful cards. I think my favourite is the last with the touch of green peeking through :) I can't believe there is less than 6 mths to Christmas.

Beautiful cards...all of them! I believe I have that stamp...or one that's similar. You've treated it royally. :-) I do believe I am most drawn to the green and white one; that's a great technique to white-emboss over color.

These are all super cool and such a variety with the same wreath. Beautifully done.

All three cards are beautiful and each is so different from the other. Great work with this stamp, Leslie. I was happy to read that the first card is your favourite ... we are slowly converting you to CAS designs! :) xx
