Got Mail?

I like the idea of sending out lots of happy mail at a time like this, and that's when blank cards or all occasion cards come in handy.  This weekend I colored the last of my not-yet-colored Alex Syberia digis.  It's appropriately called Happy Mail.  I colored with Copics and you can probably tell I didn't spend a whole lot of time on the coloring, but that's what I love about it -- it doesn't have to be complex to be pretty.

The pink splattery background was cut with an ages old Spellbinders die.  It was laying around, plain white, needing to be used, but a little spiffing up was required, so I brushed on some Seedless Preserves Distress Oxide ink and splattered with lightly dilute white acrylic paint.  Another ancient Spellbinders die was used to cut the sentiment.  All the parts were put together with a little strip of designer paper onto a wood grain cardstock base.

Honestly, I'm not finding more time to craft because of "staying at home".  I still have a house and garden to care for, I have a husband and two dogs.  I cook, do laundry, clean a room now and then, take the dogs out, do the online banking and bill paying.  Yesterday I made the first three months of our yearly photo book and I ordered a new (and awesome) compact camera to carry in my pocket when we go out with the dogs.  I read, watch movies, text and email with friends, the list goes on... and sometimes I make cards.  It's a small town life.  Not so bad right now.

Sending wishes for good health and happiness.  Be safe and find contentment in the little things if you can.  Hugs!

I absolutely love this card, especially the pink spattered die cut! Lovely pairing with the green paper and your gorgeous coloring. Happy mail indeed. I'm with you, Leslie. The days go slowly right now and even with staying home, there doesn't seem to be more time to stamp. I also feel less inclined. Somehow think I should be doing something more important?

Beautiful, Leslie!! I love the splattered panel - very cool. I agree with you - still so much to do and not enough time to do it! :) I'm happy to hear you're staying home and staying well.

Such a sweet, pretty and thoughtful card to mail to a friend:-) TFS...we are still busy too. But I guess after being retired for so many years it doesn't feel that different except for not going to town for our fitness classes 4 times a week. We are taking advantage of the ordering groceries online once a week and then picking up at FM. Take care, my friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy

OH SO PRETTY and sure to bring happiness to the recipient! I too have that VERY OLD die (and many others like it from Spellbinder) ... need to lay that binder in front of me so I use them. Love how you've colored it and I never think to add splatter but love the look! THANKS for inspiration once again! We are staying healthy & busy here in Ohio too! Long Distance Hugs!

What a nice Happy Mail card! I think it turned out really nice and I like the colors. I think now is a good time to send cards just to say Hi and how are you! I have made a few cards to send to Jennifer and they are pretty clean and simple. Thank goodness for facetime! Hopefully, the weather will improve and we will be able to go outside in the yard. Still too cold and rainy. My dafodils are blooming so that is a good sign. Stay safe!

Wow this is absolutely gorgeous, such pretty Spring colors and what an awesome digital it is. The splotchy pink background is outstanding! I am sure whomever receives this will be pleased as 'pink'...and sure to cheer someone up! I have quit watching so much news as it is too terrifying as Michigan is in it everyday and hoping and praying we will all be safe!!
