Hello again! It's Friday Fun Day at Power Poppy, so that means I had a decision to make as to which of Marcella's pretty flower stamps I'd like to color. There are so many to choose from! You may remember I've been in a coloring slump lately and nothing seems to come out quite right. Still haven't pulled out all the way, but petal by petal I'm working my way back (I hope).
Lots of blue in this one. I think of this shade as periwinkle, but it suits these columbine blooms just fine, too. The stamp is a digital download called Cup of Columbine. Alternatively, there is a clear stamp version called Cheerful Columbine.
A matching blue card base, sanded to show the white core. Sentiment from another Power Poppy clear stamp set: Natural Beauties. For this Cup of Columbine I printed the "no line" version on Arches 140 lb hot press watercolor paper... but... I colored with Copics. It has somewhat of a watercolor look, but quicker to accomplish.
Stop by the Power Poppy Blog for eye candy! I'll leave you with a link list, too. Hope I didn't miss anyone.

Leslie, your coloring is gorgeous. Such a pretty image for today. Very cheery.
A lovely card...your coloring is great! Love the blues.
Wow! What amazing flower petal highlights on this periwinkle colored grouping, Leslie. The white edge to your delicate posies is something I actually swoon over! I can't get over the tiny outline you achieved! The checkered cloth certainly does look like fabric. Hope you can find your coloring mojo soon! In the meantime, I'm certainly enjoying your masterpieces! hugs, de
beautiful. Love that napkin under the flower pot. Could'a used that today. Just watered some plants and the water went everywhere... Have a great day
This card is so gorgeous and it certainly does not look like you are in a coloring slump. A wonderful design and I love the color choices too.
You would of never guessed that you are in a coloring slump, as this masterpiece is stunning! Love it all, the beautiful colouring - it almost looks like you applied the colours through a stencil as the edges are so perfect, the white core paper works perfectly with you image, and love the napkin, it looks so real! So happy to see your card today Leslie. Wishing you a great weekend!
Leslie, what gorgeous shades of blue you used on this beautiful image, the flowers come alive with your amazing coloring.
I love the distressed look on the card base, this reminded me that I think I have a block of core paper somewhere in this room, woo hoo!!
Hugs, my dear.
Hi Leslie, re my post https://thejourneyisthestarthere.blogspot.com/2020/03/daisies-in-paradise.html
you said you were wondering how the lines don't show through the image. Well the image is digital, white inside not clear. I first do a practice run printing the image, cutting it out as a mask, small piece of DS tape it onto the paper. Outline my image then in pencil lightly to make sure that when I print it onto the DP it is in the right spot. Being a white image it doesn't show the lines.... Hope this all makes sense... ?? It's a tricky technique but was taught this years ago...
Very sweet card, Leslie! I love the results you achieved with the Copics on watercolor paper. Very clever!
Gorgeous! Oh Leslie the no line coloring is awesome. And blue hues... fantastic!
Oh that is just gorgeous in the blues with your lovely yellow vase, like your distressed paper for the background too! Your no line coloring looks terrific, I know you feel your in a slump but I sure don't see it.
Beautifully colored Digi Columbine flowers, Leslie. I loved your sanded layer and sentiment tab too. Remember when tabs were called Cammi tabs on SCS years ago? Take care and practice social distancing...blog distancing really is safe and brings so much happiness:-) Love and Hugs...Nancy
Wow, stunningly beautiful and of course LOVE the beautiful design!! Like a breath of fresh air!!
Absolutely beautiful my friend ... doesn't look like your coloring is in a slump to me!! FAR FAR better than anything I could do for sure! Great choice of images ...
Like Diane said ... 'like a breath of fresh air!' Thanks for inspiration ... HAPPY WEEKEND TO YOU!!
Beautiful card Leslie, I love that you made your flowers blue, blue and yellow does me long for Spring.
Thank you so much for sharing and have a wonderful weekend.
Such gorgeous blues on these columbine flowers, Leslie! YOu've mastered the no-line coloring method. :)
Your colombines in a cup are just beautifully colored and make a fabulous card, Leslie. The shade of blue is perfect to me, a deep and vibrant cobalt that seems jewel-like. I love this arrangement and can't help but notice what a difference the sanded look on the blue paper makes! A masterpiece, dear friend. Stay well.
Leslie, it's hard to imaging you in any colouring slump. I'm always in awe :)
Love the blue tones of your flowers so perfect with the yellows.
Gorgeous!
Amazing colouring on your beautiful card Leslie! I love the white embossing that really makes this look more delicate. And the sanded card base is awesome! xx
