Just When You Thought it was Safe to Go Back in the Water

Okay, friends...  when I was over at Frantic Stamper shopping for a mermaid tail a few extra things jumped into my cart.  You see, I was searching for sentiments to go with my mermaid tail when I spotted the sentiment set I used on today's cards -- Shaaaark!  Wait, what?  Well... the set does have one sentiment that says "Have a fin-tastic day", but it also led me to three more die sets that I felt I (ahem) really needed.

First up here is Happy Shark.  I combined it with dies from my stash -- Memory Box Stitched Circle Layers and KaiserCraft Decorative Anchors.  A little designer paper.  I wanted to keep it ultra-CAS just to see if I could.

I don't have anything against sharks, but I'm not a super fan, either.  However, I thought these would make good cards for boys from kidhood to adulthood.  Truthfully, I was having so much fun with this shark I had a hard time putting it away.

The next card incorporates another new die set -- Making Waves.  It's 5 separate dies which can be used in different combinations.  It's my first wave die set and I think this one will cover all needs.  Additionally, from my stash are Cottage Cutz Rope Corners and a party hat which I cut from an embossing folder.  I colored with a red Copic and added silver Stickles glitter.

Lastly, another die set called Tails and Fin, which includes a shark fin and two sizes of whale tails.  Aren't they a necessity in every die collection?  Maybe not, but I've been wanting to do more nautical/beachy/ocean-type cards.  For this one I added a stamped sun, a balloon, and swirly embossing which suggests a windy day.

That's enough shark cards for now, but I'll get back to it.  More of everything coming soon.  Am I having fun yet?  You bet!  Have a happy day!

OMGosh all three of these cards are fabulous!! My hubby would love them as he is a HUGE JAWS (the original 1st one) movie fan, so much so I had to buy him a new CD as he wore out the first LOL! Isn't it fun to get some new goodies, the only downside to me is when they come, then I want to buy more!!! I guess that is not a bad thing, except for my bank account HAH!!

How fun! Super cute dies and sentiments! And you're using your new stuff! Middle daughter and family just got home a couple weeks ago from the ocean/Alabama. They got some jellyfish stings or whatever you call it. They don't seem very cute to me anymore! eek!

I remember light years ago when I set a rule for myself. Once I bought a stamp set or a die, I had to use it three times before I could buy something new. I actually was able to keep this rule for two looooong years. Since you used these set three times, you have my permission to get something new. These cards are so creative, fun, and different.Anyone who gets one will smile.

Oh my goodness Leslie, all 3 are fabulous masucline cards! Such fun cards to make anyone smile! Love the variations you put together, this looks like you had a lot of fun doing! Great sentiments on each, and love the 'making waves' die, so cool! Don't you just hate (love) when things jump into your cart like that? LOL. Thanks for ending my work day Monday with a 'smile'! Love when you create! Have an awesome day Leslie.

Oh YES! You are having fun and lucky me, I get to watch. JAW(s) dropping cards, every one! Sorry, I just couldn't resist. You did keep them clean and simple but each focal point has depth and interesting details. Cute, cute cards! Consider me hooked.

What cute cards!! I can tell you had fun putting these together. I know alot of kids and adults that would love them! I know what you mean when things just jump into your cart. That happened to me with my stitching dies! Have a great week!

Love the layers of the shark, like the paper behind, like waves, the anchor is neat with it.
I think the second is my favorite, like how he is coming out of the water, your waves are great, fun sentiment!!! and aren't you clever using the embossed hat!
on the 3rd card I like the balloon coming out of the water and the sun with the embossed wind :)

I would never think to make cards using shark images, but these are so darn cute. I love the wave dies and how you used the embossing folder to look like a windy day. So creative.

Laughing and laughing here! Leslie, leave it to you to make a Great White be totally cute! That last one with the birthday balloon and the doo doo doo doo doo doo is completely crazy! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! Your freeform waves and tucked in fin are outstanding! I'm equally enamored with your party hat shark and that FABULOUS EYE. What fun this card was to make! I know you were laughing, too, while making these. Don't you love the self-entertainment during the creation process? Wishing you a safe swimming day! hugs, de

Your cards are just out of this world, Leslie! Time after time, card after card...perfection! You chose perfect dies and made the perfect dies. As I've often said about your work: you create cards that no one would want to discard.
