Double D Challenge: Focus on the Sentiment

Welcome back for another Double D Challenge, friends.  We're making the sentiment the star of the show this time.  Darlene has prepared the following inspiration board for us:

Your card doesn't have to be black and white, but wouldn't that be easy?  I think it would look pretty great, too.  As it happens, I had the parts already prepared for two of these cards, so I simply put them together.  I used a digital sentiment from the recently out-of-business Sparkle 'n Sprinkle.

Now... there's one thing I have to point out and ask you about:  I added the heart, which I think is a pretty part of the design, but after I saw the photograph I couldn't help but think it looks like a heart with leafy antlers.  Does it look weird to you?  Am I over-thinking this?  I could probably fix it somehow, but I can't decide if it needs to be fixed.

Next photo is the inside of the card with a coordinating digital sentiment.

Be sure and stop over to Double D to see some very nice team samples.  Maybe I'll see you in the gallery.  Hope so!  Have a beautiful day!

Your card is just lovely my firend and I do not think the heart looks like it has antlers! That just made me laugh! I love the die cut under everything and think the card just works!

Oh Leslie, this is one of the most beautiful sentiments I've ever read, the font is gorgeous and the words so very true.
The die cut is so lovely and so is the background pattern paper, and believe me, the heart looks perfectly adorned with those delicate branches, a very beautiful detail.
Amazing card, as always.
Hugs.

This has a beautiful sentiment. I love the frame die and the heart looks great. I would never have had the thought that it had antlers until you mentioned it.

Love that you went with th black and white to match the mood board. The sentiment is beautiful and the heart with leaves help to frame the sentiment. I did not see antlers until you mentioned it. I think you are overthinking.

One of my favorite sentiment sets and one I had thought of using for my entry. Now I might have to rethink it and see if I can find another one for the challenge. Your card is so gorgeous using Donna's stamp set.

Oh if only more companies would make digital sentiments. I often don't buy a stamp set because it only has one stamp that I can really use. I love this challenge and reading all of the sentiments here. This is a beautiful sentiment and so true. My sister is with me every day.
Don't fix it, it doesn't need to be fixed.

My first thought was what a beautiful card! I have to have this sentiment as I make cards for my church. Then I read the words you wrote and first of all no, I didn't see it as a heart with antlers and that made me laugh. Now as I look at it I do think that but I never would have had you not said it. Yes, you over thought it. It is amazing. So now I have finished reading it and I can't get the digi of this sentiment? I am so sad.

Beautiful outside and in! Your sentiment verse you chose to use is beautiful! It's a shame this is no longer available. Lovely layout using the die cut frame and I do not think your heart looks like it has leafy antlers, you are over-thinking for sure. Another wonderful card Leslie, TFS! Have a great day!

LOL! An antlered heart? Well, yes, after you mention it, yes. I'm glad you like "my" set. Eventually I'll likely put it as a give away on my blog. I love the way you have featured it, and it warms my heart that you care for it. I hadn't thought about making an element with antlers for it, though. (giggling here -- can you hear me?) It's a gorgeous card! xx

beautiful sympathy card, love that sentiment, you fit it perfectly in the die and no I don't think the heart looks weird at all I thought it looked great and liked the soft colors of it too. Did you put glossy accents on the leaf clusters, I think the whole card is perfection :)

Beautiful sympathy sentiment, Leslie. I did not notice the leafy antlers until you mentioned it...which means I think that the leaves are fine:-) TFS Hugs..Nancy

OMG!! This sentiment is so beautiful! I find it hard to make sympathy cards but this sentiment says it all. I did have to laugh at your thought about the heart. I think it looks perfect the way it is. We are always so critical of our work. Joe picked out something I had thrown away the other day and asked why it was in the garbage? I said look at it!! It looks terrible! He just smiled and laughed and took the card and put it on the refrigerator. He said it's perfect!

What a comforting sympathy card this is, Leslie. It pairs so perfectly with that filigreed cover die. As for the heart antlers? No way! I didn't get that impression as all. Even going back and looking again, I don't feel that it looks anything other than beautiful, so don't change it! Hugs, Darnell

Gorgeousness, Leslie! I LOVE those leaves - they are so pretty. Maybe a tad like antlers on the heart, but nothing to change. It's perfect:)

I saw a heart...even after your explanation, I see a heart. :-) It's such a great sentiment in beautiful typography. The diecut layer is so pretty.

AMAZING!! Love so much that sentiment and your design is elegant and sweet!! Love the filigree frame! I see a heart with branches of life that grow. No antlers here :)

FABULOUS take on the challenge, my dear. I love all those gorgeous die cuts, they are simply stunning. It's so nice to be back in the swing of things, I have missed all my sweet peeps here on Double D.

Over thinking for sure....but now that you mention it I can not UN see it, I don't know if I should add an lol or not?!?! It's such a beautiful sentiment and oh so true, I think the added stamped image looks beautiful (containing wildlife or not) I don't even think your recipient will spot that, they will just see and feel the love conveyed in this beautiful creation! xo~
