Okay, friends... I had something made with all new supplies I was going to share today, but decided instead to play along in the Retro Rubber Challenge with all old supplies. I'm partial to this challenge because it encourages us to love on the oldies, plus it runs for two weeks which gives me more time to get a card made. The current challenge is "Anything Goes" -- with stamps that are a year or more old. Before I bend your ears (eyes) further I'll show you the card:
The stamps are years old. Not sure how many years, but a lot. The lovely Charlotte is a Loralie stamp, all of which went out of production not long after I fell in love with them. You can still search and find a few online. My 7 sets will have to suffice. They've survived multiple stamp room purges as I enjoy looking at them even when I'm not stamping with them.
Charlotte was colored with Copic markers on Neenah 110 lb white. I left all white in the background because Charlotte is such a colorful character and this card could easily get too busy. She's so fun to dress! Makes me feel like stepping up my wardrobe. I don't color people stamps very often, but just look how pretty and fun she is! I gave her red hair in honor of the late Lucille Ball whose quote I used. There are a few details I added, such as eyelashes on Charlotte and her cat, claws on the cat, polka dots on Charlotte's blouse.
She's standing on a wood floor courtesy of Penny Black Wood Floors die. It's not so old, but it's a first time use, so hooray for that!
Thank you, Retro Rubber, for prompting me to blow the dust off an old favorite, and thank you, my stamping friends, for stopping in and for always indulging these whims that take hold of me. Have a beautiful day!

This is absolutely fabulous ! I can see why you have kept this stamp for so many years and I am just sorry that it is not still in production as I would buy it in a heartbeat ! I always loved Lucille Ball and of course anything with a cat will always be something I will fall in love with !
Awesome job!!
Your card is so cute! I love the image and just know why you keep the stamp. I probably would be searching for it to purchase today! You inspired me to join in the challenge!
Hope you have a good week!
Fabulous stamp and sentiment great colouring and love the flooring

OH!! Cute image. Nice coloring. Have a great day
I think since Charlotte is out of production, we should officially change her name to Lucille! To me, you have captured what Lucy would look like today if she were still with us! Brilliant coloring, perfect sediment, and well done using your NBUS wood floor ... which now I must buy. Sigh. :) Hugs, Darnell
I love it, Leslie! Super wonderful. Her hat is amazing, as is the rest of the coloring.
Fabulous coloring, for not doing people very often you do a fantastic job, love the shading and texture that you gave to her hair, you would never know that the eyelashes and other extra's you added were not part of the stamp but add that great extra detail to it, fun sentiment to go with it :)
So very well designed with that Charlotte design. Great coloring. She reminds me of Lucy too! And, I love the sentiment.
what a great card to start off the week! Charlotte looks great with her hat and all dressed up to go out shopping with her friends. I love the lipstick and eyelashes plus a great sentiment! Have a great week!
Oh, Leslie, wish you could see me now my friend, I'm wearing a HUGE smile and jumping for joy to see you at the RETRO RUBBER gallery sharing this amazing, fabulous and gorgeous card!!!
Who doesn't love Lucy? WOW!! what a fantastic image, beautifully colored and the sentiment fits her perfectly.
Love your floor, what a great die and it's just perfect for this sweet image to stand on. That kitty is just as adorable as this stylish gal.
Thank you so much for playing along with us at RETRO RUBBER, where you can have loads of fun using your old and beloved stamp set.
Hope you play again next time.
Hugs.
Leslie, I'm so glad that we've inspired this wonderful creation with our Anything Goes challenge. What a fabulous old stamp, perfectly paired with a super sentiment. Your colouring is outstanding and I think your decision to leave a lot of white space to avoid busyness was a good one - Lovely Lucy (or Charlotte) has room to breathe now. Thank you for joining in with us at Retro Rubber Challenge.
What a fabulous "old" stamp, Leslie - I'm sure the stamp is lying about its age, too, right? Wonderful coloring in your fancily dressed gal with the huge spring bonnet (I used to love the big hats!). Your Lucille Ball sentiment is cute! I've never seen it before. I especially like that you have designed a floor for a scene! FANTASTIC in every way, of course! hugs, de
two perfectly matched stamps Leslie both are making me smile :). Great colouring as always.
This is so super FUN!! What a character she is and of course right up my ally with a kitty!! I love the older stamps as much as the new ones! I looked that 'must have' die up and it's OOS, but hopefully will come back in at DRU. She would of been a perfect card for the new DD challenge this week with her fancy dancy hat!!
Leslie... your card is fun beyond words! I can understand why the stamps have survived a couple of purges. Don't laugh...but I just used that sentiment on a card I made for the "Inspired By..." challenge. Thanks so much for joining us at Retro Rubber this week!
Oh Leslie, this is awesome! She is such a fun character, I know you have coloured her up before, but she seems to get better each time! Love the red hair and I agree she should be called Lucille! It's always good to pull out some of those oldies, I just don't do it enough. Fabulous colouring, love all the added accents - eyelashes, polka dots and that flooring, Ok, well I need that die for sure!! Thanks for sharing such a great image and making me smile. Sorry I didn't get around to commenting until today. Wishing you a wonderful day Leslie!
This is amazing!! So clever how you coloured all those details and I love how you created a floor... Fabulous!
OMG ... she's darling and LOVE that hat!!! Your coloring is just amazing (I'm partial to redheads lol) and those flowers are perfect! What a fun creation ... brought an instant smile!
Good for you using up old stamps again, I always enjoy that when I do myself. She is colorful and fun for sure. I like the flooring look and great white space and sketch. Turned out darling.
Blowing off the dust from the oldie but goodie stamps is always fun! You've done a fabulous job with your images, including the flower on the sentiment circle is a wonderful touch to balance. Thanks for playing along with us at Retro Rubber for our AG challenge
