Hello there! Today I'm playing along with The Flower Challenge #28: Pink and Gray, and in the process I've used a not-yet-used-enough stamp set and finished another special order anniversary card. I may be disqualified and that's okay because I didn't realize until I was finished that it appears as though the hearts and "love" are the main focus, rather than the flowers. Oops.
The card does have plenty of pink and gray. The flowers are Power Poppy's Bee Kind Toile and the "Love" comes from Springtime Love. I'll list all ingredients at the end.
I stamped in Memento London Fog and colored with Copics. A scalloped oval formed the image panel, and a pretty Anna Griffin embossing folder made the base. I smooshed white ink over the embossing to help it stand out more. A tiny rhinestone is the only embellishment.
Inside I really mixed it up with sentiments from two other Power Poppy sets and flowers from Bee Kind Toile. I think a mom can say this to her son and daughter-in-law on their anniversary.
So... another thing... I've undertaken the huge project of scanning old photos and scrapbook pages and turning them into Shutterfly photo books. The photos will be better preserved and much easier to store. While I was making my pink and gray card I remembered this photo from 1985, a mere 34 years ago, give or take a few months.
I remember the pink and gray sweater that I loved so much. I remember the earrings I wore with it. I remember the occasion and place -- our anniversary weekend at a nearby beach resort. I remember how we were playing Trivial Pursuit in the afternoon and laughing so hard the proprietors knocked on our door and asked us to hold down the noise. Hey, I like to laugh and I've enjoyed a long marriage to a guy who can always make me laugh.
Funny how a little card can evoke so many memories.
Thanks for letting me share. Have a happy day!

STUNNING card and am a lover of your colours. Love that embossing folder and gorgeous stamps, wow, what don't I love.xx
Beautiful card Leslie!! The pink and gray are so pretty together along with the gorgeous stamp set you have used and of course the embossing folder, too! What a fun story with the picture of yourself which BTW is fabulous!! Isn't it great to be married to someone that you love and is your best friend too? Greg and I have been together for 30 years this year and I always tell him I sure wish I had met him first, except for our kids of course, wouldn't trade them for anything! Anyhow a beautiful card and a beautifully fun post!!
Love your beautiful card! Thanks for sharing it with us.
Doesn't it just seem like yesterday you were wearing the pink and gray sweater, and sporting those earrings behind your fantastic mane of dark hair? It's like, REALLY? It was only a few years ago, right? And, yes, I like laughing, too, and fortunately, I'm married to someone who keeps me laughing (whether intentional or not) LOL Leslie, I am in awe of the tapestry of time, and how we all weave our lives into Time's continuity. Or does Time weave itself into ours? At any rate, I enjoyed the description of your "not enough" used stamp, the choices of soft embellishments to keep it elegant, and the tender declaration of encouragement to your son and DIL. May they enjoy many more happy decades! It's a beautiful creation! hugs, de
beautiful and it says anniversary to me. Have a great day
Gorgeous card love the beautiful deep embossing and delicate flowers -the grey hearts complement beautifully--How great that one little card can spark so many fabulous memories!!!

This is truly a most elegant card! As always, the details are amazing, Leslie. The special heart-within-heart, the "pillowy" dry embossing, and the coloring of the flowers---all so beautiful. I've been thinking of the pink and gray theme, but have decided to take it on a little later.
Fun to see your photo in pink and gray, too! (I've never had a good memory...it's almost scary how little I recall of what should have been important days in my life, and it's not just "seniority" that causes it, either.) This is gorgeous work.
That card is so beautiful and I love the way you designed it. I like the hearts front and center. And, that is an awesome pic of you in the gray and pink sweater too.
Absolutely stunning! Jaw dropping gorgeous Leslie. Love your design with the beautiful embossed florals, the scalloped collar with the pretty pink and grey flowers, and then to finish it off your two toned grey layered heart, topped with Love and a rhinestone! You have such an eye for details and this lacks none. Love your story on your photo. Yes is is funny how something can trigger a memory. Thanks for sharing yours, and thanks for sharing such a beautiful card today. You always inspire me in so many ways.
What a beautiful card! Pink and grey are some of my favorite colors - so soft and pretty! I like how the scallope die frames the hearts and the embossing folder is really nice with your soft ink CS. I've been storing some pictures as well, and I laugh at the different hairstyles I had!! Love that sweater!! Have a great week! We are getting ready for a lot of snow! UGH!!
Beautiful, Leslie: the card, the memories and you!
Too funny Leslie, I've also been on a pink and gray run with cards (not posted yet). It's such a pretty colour combo and your card is so gorgeous with the embossing folder texture and the pretty flowers.
I love that sweater, great memories from the past :)
Amazing card. I love the white over the embossing. At first,I thought you had embossed some vellum. Elegant and beautiful.
Stunning, I would say with the flowers you colored and those in the embossing you have flowers as main as the rest. Pretty soft coloring and I Love your scalloped edge.
That is so neat to see the photo that the card reminded you of and of such great and fun memories it brought up too, isn't it funny the memories that we remember like it was yesterday!
TFS your Gorgeous flower designed pink and grey anniversary card, Leslie. Your friend will love it. I think with your dry embossed and stamped and colored flowers you will be just fine. The flowers look like the main focus to me.
How fun to see your grey and pink sweater with cute you with long hair! Can you believe I had long straight hair in the 70's? I am excited that you are making Shutterfly books and can't wait to see them. My future projects after we downsize is to start making books with our old photos too.
Have fun, Hugs, Nancy
Sorry to be so late. I love the colors you chose ... the pink and gray is very classy looking! I also love the embossing folder you used. Well done girl!
Leslie, your card is gorgeous! I love the pink and gray so much! Regarding your picture, I had the same hair cut in the 80's!
Oh my goodness Leslie, what a stunning card, I love the embossed panel is gorgeous, I thought it was vellum. Love the little, beautiful flowers behind your stitched hearts, the Love sentiment looks sweet and beautiful inside.

Looks like this color challenge was made for you and your love of pink and gray, Leslie. The colored flowers are beautiful and the embossed ones really show up with your swipe of white. Thanks for sharing your card with us at The Flower Challenge.
What a lovely card! I love a pink and grey palette - add flowers and I'm hooked! But... that embossing folder?! Wow! That was a perfect choice for this card. Ah, the 80's! I wore my hair in the Dorothy Hamill cut for most of it *laughing*
