Honey Bees and Mintay

Pardon me while I play with my Mintay papers again.

I'm having the most fun making use of these beautiful papers in the Farm Life pad and finding stamps that work well with them.  In this case I pulled out my not-yet-used Bee Kind Toile set from Power Poppy, along with another sheet of the same design I used in my previous card.

I wanted to use every pretty detail of the paper, so I cut around the images and glued them to a frame with a circle opening.  This way I could move them closer together for this 5" card and let the design overlap the window.

Before gluing down the Mintay cut outs, I placed the frame on my stamping paper and traced a light pencil line to mark where the window would be.  Then it was a matter of positioning the stamps in relation to the window and the Mintay cut outs.  I did not adhere the Mintay cut outs to the frame until I was certain of the layout.

It was a treat watching everything come to life as I Copic colored the cute honey hive cake and the buzzing bees.  I off-stamped the honey comb once so it would be lighter in color.  Added Stickles sparkle to the honey.  Popped up the frame and the front was done.

Inside I stamped a birthday sentiment and decorated with the last floral cut out from the Mintay paper and a border trimmed from the flip side of the same sheet.

Love this craft of ours!  Again... that's why I call it playing in my room.  Don't we have fun?  Have a happy day!

Beautiful card and I am so happy I received some of these paper pads from a friend in Tasmania for my birthday, most unexpected and now although I love them, don't want to cut them up...This one you are using was not among the lot I got...but am happy.x

Squeel! Leslie, this is stunning! Oh my goodness, the beauty of this is breathtaking, even though it is mostly papers. Mintay makes the most beautiful papers. I haven't even had a chance to stamp or play with my new Mintay papers in the last couple of weeks, but will get there, still another 2 weeks of overtime. I love the process you took to make this card. At first I didn't notice the fussy cutting around each piece and then glued to your card front, amazing job. And how you have the honey hive cake placed so perfectly and your honey comb to fill in the white space, oh my! I love when you stamp, a great way to start my day. Thank you for that, and wish you a happy day as well! Hugs,

Another gorgeous use of the Minty and stamp combination!! You make me want to get out all my Mintay and play too, but that will have to wait awhile....the bee hive is absolutely perfect for the papers, love, love the cutouts and the perfect placement, the papers are beautiful but you make them 'come alive'!!!
