Hello friends! We're at Double D Challenge time again and Darlene has chosen Tea and Coffee for our theme. What fun! It made me look at lots of favorite old stamps and some favorite not so old stamps. Decisions, decisions... Ultimately I settled on a summery card using a Power Poppy set called "Tea in the Garden". I hope you can tell this is supposed to be iced tea.
When you look at the mood board you can see how I was inspired by the pretty tea tins.
The team votes on favorites and I know there are going to be lots of favorites for this challenge. Additionally, there's a prize for a random winner. We have a cute stamp set this time:
Coloring is Copic markers on X-Press It Blending Card. The square lattice die cut was layered white-onto-black, slightly offset so the black barely shows, but it made all the difference in how distinctly it contrasted with the flowery designer paper.
I added a flower embellishment with a Doodle Bug Matte Sprinkle in its center and my card is good to go for a summer birthday. I sent out quite a few July birthday cards, so my stash needs replenishing. All supplies are listed below my signature.
The team rose to the challenge with all kinds of fun and pretty cards. Check them out at Double D, and then come play along. See you soon!
Stamps: Power Poppy Tea in the Garden Paper: X-Press It Blending Card for image panel and flower embellishment, other white for lattice die and card base, black, Prima Annalee designer paper Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics for coloring Accessories: Doodle Bug Matte Sprinkles (Spring collection), Joy Crafts Square Frame die, Spellbinders Standard Circles Large, Sue Wilson String Flowers, Sue Wilson Small Pair of Leaves

The colouring is superb!! Fabulous card Leslie!
Beautiful card Leslie and a creative idea to offset the die with black, I have done that with words but not with a die like this so am storing that info for further use!! I love your pretty ice tea stamp and coloring, just an all over gorgeous design!! LIke you I had a hard time deciding which of my 'stash' to use! Have a great day!!
Leslie, I love how you offset this beautiful die with black, it frames this refreshing Chamomile Ice Tea image perfectly, your amazing coloring brings it to life. The pattern paper is gorgeous and the little daisy die cut matches the little Chamomile flowers beautifully.
Thank you for the inspiration and I will see you in the gallery.
XO
Maria.
This is my favorite die and that stamp set is perfect for it! Your coloring rocks, as always! What a perfect card for a summer birthday! Love it!!!!!
I LOVE how you made this iced tea! Looks fabulous with the floral backdrop too! Like you could sit on a porch in the south and sip tea together. Lovely Leslie!
very nice. Have a great day
Your cards always pop off the DD Board. You always think of something different. Love the iced tea. Beautiful coloring and lovely layers.
Beautiful card design and gorgeous coloring of that image too. I love the cool refreshing summer tea design.
The inspiration for the floral background paper from the tins is fabulous, Leslie! I can just picture sitting in your garden, sipping tea, and enjoying the pleasure of humming bees, playing Goldens, sweet conversation, and a lovely setting. All in a wonderful backdrop, only prettier than your beautiful card! Such a intriguing white daisy die cut - it almost reminds me of tiny white coated paper clips carefully arranged. Beautifully done, Leslie! hugs, de
I love this card. And yes you can tell it is ice tea! I like the floral background and you colored the tea so good it looks ready to drink! I just order the new tea set from SU along with the tins. I thought I would decorate them and fill them up with tea for Jennifer's teachers at Xmas.
OH my friend you are so clever ... LOVE this 'iced tea' creation! Your coloring is as always, just gorgeous and your design is SO YOU! Beautiful! Well done ... hugs!
Well you did it again Leslie, another wonderful creation. I'm always 'wowed' by your cards. You picked a perfect image for your card today, and what a great paper choice for the background - some great inspiration on the mood board. Your ice tea looks yummy, perfect colours. I love that square frame die, and how you layered black behind it. The flower and leaves are a nice finishing touch. Beautiful card to add to your stash! Enjoy your day!
Love your framing for this sweet card, I love my iced tea and this looks so refreshing, great summer card, and such pretty background for it all too! Like your added flower to go with the one in the image panel
Simply gorgeous, Leslie! The black matting looks amazing against the white and floral background papers. So refreshing...makes me want to sit and have a glass of iced tea!
I could definitely tell that was a pitcher of Iced Tea (Sweet Tea I hope) - I'm a southern gal now so it's sweet tea with lemon. And, I can also see the tea tin inspiration in your background patterned paper. It's a beautiful card and the the tea color was "spot" on (smiling).
Hugs, Susie ~
Oh you totally have captured the pretty tea tins with that pretty Designer Paper, it is so lovely! I love iced tea, sweet tea, hot tea, Long Island....oooh I digress. lol Your coloring is perfect and I adore your images!
Wow would never think anyone had coloured this amazing card Leslie, you sure are the queen of colouring.

Your coloring is totally amazing, Leslie! And your card is so beautiful. Love the daisy:)
Must be sweet tea! This summertime personified. I love everything about this from design to coloring.(I may have to get that daisy die.)
Your card is gorgeous Leslie! I love the dies you used and that pretty image. Fabulous colors too.
What a beautiful image, I love this Leslie! The colors and elements you chose are as refreshing as that pitcher of tea looks! I love the sprinkling of daisies and the pretty DSP too.
Oh, Leslie, as soon as I saw that pitcher and glass, I knew it was ice tea! Cool and delicious, I'm sure! What a lovely card with such a beautiful die and DP behind, and the flower and leaves are beautiful! But it's your amazing coloring that really makes this card (usually is -- wink!). I love it, sweet friend! Been way behind and dealing with "life," as we all are. I hope you are having a wonderful time away. Hugs and love! xoxo
Such an adorable card, love that you did the iced tea thing. Very clever. Your coloring is just great, as is your design. Really like the way you off-set the black and white die cuts, that is GENIUS!!!
Beautiful card and image-fabulous colouring and great idea with the dropped shadow
