The Last of the Valentines

I've finished up the last of the Valentines, and it's a good thing because we're having a false spring and the outdoors are beckoning.  This is not the time to be sitting in my stamp room no matter how much fun it is.  Must enjoy that sunshine before it goes away again!

Today I have two more cards using the uber-cute Va-Va-Valentines digi set from Power Poppy.  I was thinking how quick and simple these cards are, but I looked at my pile of supplies after I finished -- three paper pads, four die sets, one embossing folder, ribbon, rhinestones... no wonder my room was such a mess!  I'll list all supplies at the end.  The first card is a soft color combo with honest to goodness ribbon.

The second card has a good deal more color set against a white embossed background.  The swirls in the embossed panel and the ribbon tails are meant to echo the swirly pattern in the designer paper.  Coloring on both cards was done with Copic markers.

The first card with its pink/gray/red color combo is for the Color Throwdown challenge.

The second card is just because.

My room is all tidied up now and ready for the next project... when the rain comes back.  Have a happy day!

these are adorable!!! I know what you mean. A "simple" card is a minimum of 10 supplies. I'm glad you are having nice weather. It's been rainy and cold, but we've had almost no snow and for that I am grateful!!

Fabulous cards! Love the pink and gray of the fan one and the pop of red!! Also love all the pretty colors of the second one. I still need to get my Valentines in the mail, tomorrow hopefully! Enjoy that weather, we just got a foot of snow overnight and more to come today and tomorrow, pretty but deadly!! Poor Mack, he looked like a snowman when he came in this morning!

These are great! I don't do many Valentines anymore as my boys are all pretty much grown and feel the don't want valentines from grandma. So if I have design team work I do valentines otherwise I don't.

These are both just fabulous Leslie! Your coloring is always SO HAPPY and sweet designs! Oh how I'm yearning for springtime ... but with 6" (and more coming) of snow on the ground I don't think it's going to be anytime soon! LOL Thanks for brightening my day and lifting my spirits with your pretty creations!

Marcella knocked it out of the park with these adorable Valentine's! I especially like the "fan". All I could think of is "love is in the air" with those heart blades sending out tiny hearts in the air surrounding it! Because I live so close to Mickey Mouse's house, I had to chuckle at your red rhinestone hearts - they look like mouse ears. LOL Your delicate coloring makes these images especially sweet, Leslie! hugs, de

Hi Leslie, enjoy getting out in the sunshine! You've sure brought some my way today with these delightful creations. When I looked at the images of the set after seeing yesterday's card, I had trouble thinking of how I would use them. I love the idea of some gender neutral images for Valentines.

I need wonder no more! You've highlighted these so beautifully. What first caught my eye was the REAL honest-to-goodness ribbon. I'm glad to be seeing more of it again! And the heart shaped embellishments are adorable! I love the clean bright look of the second card with the detailed dies and textures. Such sweet sweet creations.

I love your stamps for these designs The papers are so pretty and I love how you made shaped cards. I had to smile when you described you work area and then looked at your list of supplies. How did we ever manage whe our only supplies were two stamp sets, some colored pencils, an embossing folder and one set of oval dies, and a Cuttlebug.Oh,I forgot I also had three colors of embossing powders, a heat gun and a paper cutter.

These cards are so cute - I love the sentiments!! I understand about doing quick and simple cards and then look around at everything to be away. If you have sunshine - go for it!! And please send some East!!

I took a little detour this morning and saw your craft room. What a nice room to create in, Leslie! I loved it. I'm really looking forward to your spring/summer photo's in a couple of months -- I love your garden sooo much! Cheryl Scivens and I are very luck to be in an area of the country that will see Spring first. But it also means we'll see those pesky misquotes sooner too. Honestly, they are so large down here they could be the state bird! Seriously. *hahaha*

I loved the new PowerPoppy Va Va Valentine Digi release. I've haven't purchased any digi's lately. I lost the hard drive on my big computer toward the end of summer (it's hooked to my printer). Finally got it fixed and I'm back in business.

I loved both cards (those little hearts made from rhinestones are adorable). I love the soft colors and tilt of the die cut tags. The soft pinks really speak to my heart (love that plaid). The second card is a very close second, because I love your coloring so much! You matched your colors with that patterned paper perfectly! That little transistor radio is the cutest isn't it? I remember having one and listening to KRLA (King Radio Los Angles) with the then radio DJ, Casey Kasem when I was a teen ager. Leslie, your cards are swoon worthy for any sweet Valentine. Have a happy weekend my friend.

Leslie, these are both fabulous cards! I love the softness of the first one, pink and gray - a romantic feel to this one. The paper choice is perfect, love the die tags you used and the way you finished this up with that perfect tied bow and the rhinestones! The second card just makes me smile, so bright and cheery, love the colours you used, the embossed layer and that die ribbon and the heart for the center - love! I have scrolled back up to look at these several times as I type my comment. These both make my heart swoon!! Love them both. Hope you enjoyed your sunny day! We got dumped on with about 10 inches of snow yesterday, and it is snowing again today, it's never ending! Have a wonderful day.

Sweet Leslie, you have made such darling cards with these fun valentine images. I love both of them. Sweet with the soft palette of the first one and the shaped "tag-like" image. Just love the bitty bow at the top and the rhinestones. And the second one is so lovely with a wonderful palette from the beautiful DP. Just love that bow die at the top and the embossing. Yes, I know what you mean about mess after making cards with all the "stuff" on the table. But these were well worth it and have put a smile on my face! Hugs!
