Sparked by a Sketch Challenge

Welcome to Monday, friends!  I'm playing along with Power Poppy today.  It's a sketch challenge, and I do love a sketch.  I find them inspiring, rather than confining, and there's always room for interpretation.  I used the Lavender set, one of my well-used favorites.  Lots of images and sentiments to work with.

There are several sketches to choose from.  This is the one I used:

The entire page of sketches with Power Poppy samples can be seen here.

I used lace for the scalloped edge element and replaced the oval with a sweep of lavender stems.

Coloring is Copics on X-Press It Blending Card and all images are cut out.  Other whites in the design are from a pack of textured whites I've had forever.  A Wal-Mart gem of a find.  The word, "Lavender", was stamped in SU's Kiwi Kiss, a perfect match for the patterned paper.  I tried to match the lavender color, as well.

The Copics used for coloring:

Power Poppy Power & Spark Challenge:  Grab a Map

Hopefully, I've covered all the details.  There are so many pictures here I tried not to blather away with too many words.  There's a summary of details in the recipe below.  Have a wonderful day!

Stamps:  Power Poppy Lavender  Paper:  X-Press It Blending Card, textured white, Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters designer paper  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, SU Kiwi Kiss, Copics for coloring  Accessories:  Lace, Memory Box Stitched Circle Layers, Sue Wilson Pierced Flags

Oh my, I'm lost for words on this one Leslie. You nailed the challenge.
The images you used are so perfect, love how you cut out the lavender stems and adhered them the way you did. Your colouring is well done as always, great earthy tones with a touch of purple - nice! That bit of lace is so pretty, very subtle, but you can see it, and of course all your stitching :). Beautiful card Leslie, I hope to get my mojo going again, I'm off today, so hopefully I can make something work. And it's a rainy day here, temps over the freezing, the calm before the cooler weather sets us back to reality! Have a wonderful day, and many thanks for sharing your creativity, you always make my day when I see your cards in my feedly post.

Love the colors, love the stitching, love the image, love the sketch... Gosh, Leslie, you have captured everything I love! That zigzag stitching over the 3 banners is wonderful! Olive/Lavender is one of my favorite combinations, and this really does look fabulous in its earthiness and details. Sigh - really pretty card, and definitely will make anyone feel better just knowing it was a hand made work of Love. Gorgeousness! xx

Beautiful card design and colors. And, I love that you did real stitching for the banner pieces. I never do sewing as I am a nervous Nellie when I sew with a machine. But I love the look.

Oh Leslie, what an absolutely amazing way to interpret that Power Poppy sketch, your matching of the colors is spectacular!!!
The stitching looks so beautifully straight, I must, MUST install my sewing machine somewhere in my craft room because I truly want to stitch my cards, it adds such nostalgic, vintage feel.
Beautiful card my dear, thank you for sharing.
Hugs,
Maria.

This is such a sweet breath of Spring, done up in perfection as always, Leslie!! I have a lot of Power Poppy images, but not this one...it is lovely! I haven't been able to make a card since Christmas...the desire is there but not the creativity. Working on it today, though. Thanks for sharing, and blathering is always welcome, in my book!

Gorgeous card Leslie!! Another beautiful 'stamp' you have used and of course love the added stitching, it always adds so much more detail doesn't it! I love the lavender, I have it growing outside in my kitchen garden along the deck, my thought was I could smell it in the kitchen, hasn't happened yet, lol, maybe I need to add more plants. Anyhow, a beautiful creations, enjoy your day! (PS: Mack is a little/big nightmare, whew he keeps me on my toes, good thing I love him..lol)!!!

Oh, what's NOT to love about this card? Beautiful in every way, Leslie! It's so serene with the lovely colors you chose. The lace and stitching add the perfect details. I've gotten out of the habit of using DSP and need to get back at it, as your masterful work has inspired me! Never did much stitching but I can see how it adds just the right touch to pull things together.

Wow, what a gorgeous sketch card, Leslie, and that one is a challenge (but I always find sketches challenging, which is why I did one). Beautifully done with this lovely lavender set that I rarely use (but am inspired now). Stunning details with the color, stitching, and lovely lace that fits so well. Thanks for inspiring me (always...)! Hugs!
