Our Little LuLu is Fit as a Fiddle

Because so many of you kind souls have asked, I wanted to let you know our little LuLu is fully recovered and back to her happy, active self.  Here she is with our dear, sweet Wally, living the Golden Retriever good life.

Her meds healed her tummy and she's now taking daily omeprazole to prevent acid reflux.  She hasn't had another bout since, but it wasn't all that frequent to begin with.  We'll wait and see.  We've always been careful with Wally and LuLu's diet, easy on the people food, paying heed to the long list of foods dogs aren't supposed to eat.  It's a mystery.

When they hurt, we hurt.  Love hurts, but it's worth it.  If only we didn't care so much...  Thank you for caring, too.

Gosh, Leslie, this photo looks fabulous the way you've captured them into the sun - the halo of their beautiful (wet) fur, and all the layers of grasses and sloping hillside. Aren't the shadows and depths amazing? It almost looks like a painted portrait! So glad Miss Lulu is doing better, and the meds worked their magic. I have a question about her acid reflux. By any chance, were one of her symptoms a tongue moving in and out, as though she was trying to swallow? We, too, are careful about what he eats, and indulge in healthy snacks, etc. He has been to the vet about a "habit"(?) where his tongue licks the air repeatedly on occasion. The vet says she cannot find anything, and she thinks it is OCD issues. I call it the Komodo effect because it reminds me of a dragon LOL Thanks for sharing your happy news and beautiful portrait! hugs, de

So happy for you! I personally am not a big animal lover (not that I haven't had my share of pets over the years) but my daughter & granddaughter are like you and their pets are part of the family! My daughter is still mourning the loss of her sweet dog Josie and 3 different rescue horses she has owned. Glad she's back to her happy self ... thanks to your love and attention!!

Happy to hear that Lulu is back to her healthy self. Wally and Lulu are so adorable.

I have feeding issues with my kitties. One of them can't eat the food that they have all been eating for 3 years. All of a sudden it causes the same issues that Lulu was having. I have had to isolate her to keep her away from the other food. I was trying to get the other ones on the same food that she is eating and one of them started having the same issues with the new food, so they are back to the old food and the other cat isolated with the new food. Sigh!

Isn't it amazing how attached you can become to your animals?!? Wally and Lulu are the sweetest and most loving dogs to each other, you and Rich and your friends:-)

So happy to know Lulu healed so quickly and is back to her active sweet self:-) TFS, Leslie. Hugs...

Oh Leslie, how fabulous to know your sweet Lulu is back to her normal, healthy self.
It's so hard when your pets get sick, it's like having a baby sick in the house, they can't really tell you what's wrong and you suffer alongside with them.
Love this picture of your precious doggies,
the landscape is gorgeous!!
Big hugs to you and each of them.
Maria.

This is the best news possible! You made my whole week! As her "adopted" mom (and Wally's too) I always worry about them. I'm sure all the love from you guys and from Wally are what made all the difference! Hugs to you all!

Fabulous news!!! What a fun picture of the two of them, had they been swimming?? I always kid the hubby that we should of bought stock in our vet long ago with as many vet trips we have made lol...I am glad it is that and not seizures like Nellie had, hoping and praying that Mack can be seizure free. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to even believe we got him, he is a character for sure and the opposite of what Nellie was, but I love him dearly even with all his own little quirks...4 months old now and he is BIG...guess once he gets his haircut I will put some pics on, he would have a great time with Wally and Lulu!! Poor boy, all he has is cats..lol!!

I'm so glad to hear Lulu's tummy is feeling better. I know what a worry and concern it is to you and Rich -- and Wally too. They know when their animal friend isn't feeling well just as they do when you're not feeling well. Thank you for sharing the beautiful photo of them.
