Little Things Twice

It's probably time I shared these cards I made the week after Christmas, don't you think?  I went a little nuts with my Lil' Inker "The Little Things" stamp set, stamping and cutting out bunches of birds and leaves and flowers.  Very simple with no coloring, but certainly lots of cutting.  There's a matching die set available, but I honestly think it was quicker to stamp out lots and cut at my leisure.  I was in no hurry.

There's something about the simple, almost primitive folk-artsy look of these stamps that appeals to me.  I made five cards, one after the other, but I'll only share two of them.  The first is more involved -- lots of leaves to make a wreath, both stamped and cut out, with a few flowers placed here and there.  Stitched and framed with a make-believe bird for fun.

The second card is more clean and simple, and it uses the Lil' Inker "Silly Stitched Die Set", as well.  The die set comes with rectangles and circles.  The circles make the stitched pattern, but do not cut out a shape.

Inside:

So, yay, I added three birthday cards, a thank you card, and a hello card to my stash.  Really trying to get ahead and this simple stamping helped a lot.

I hope you've enjoyed a stamp happy week, or any kind of happy week, and are looking forward to the weekend soon to come.  If I get some cards photographed I'll pop in next week.  Take care!

I love both of these but I think the first one is my favorite. I really love the wreath and the polka dots as well. I also love the stitching....something that I just never do!

Hi, Leslie! How could you NOT play with these darling images - especially the week after Christmas? Fantastic "repeat frame" in your first creation with the wonderfully dimensional wreath. I like your CAS with the continuing "wreath effect" and embossed framing. Does't your little bird look sweet nestled in her leafy, flowery nest? Even the little sentiment fonts are cute. Wonderful cards! hugs, de

WOW!! Leslie, what beautiful pair of cards, I thought you were going to play with the TWOFER challenge again, they are awesome.
Love the stitched detail on your second card made with the Silly Stitched die set, how cool is that (might, MUST get it, LOL!!) but the first card with the real stitching is my favorite, just gorgeous!!
I keep saying that I'm going to do some stitching on my cards but I always forget, I think I need to move my sewing maching from my bedroom to my craft room so I can see it here and just do it.
Anyway my dear, this are a couple of gorgeous cards, thank you for sharing.
Hugs,
Maria.

Both your cards are so colorful and cheerful, Leslie. That was a lot of fussy cutting, which can be relaxing, especially if you are not in a hurry.

I love your pretty wreath with a few flowers and sweet bird. Your new dies that add stitching without cutting thru are wonderful on your 2nd card. CAS Beauty my friend. TFS Hugs...

Oh wow that wreath is gorgeous, so much cutting but it looks fabulous, so worth all that work, love the bird with it!
Such a pretty design on the second card, love the stitched circles for the sentiment framing and your combo of the bird, flowers and leaves is so pretty, terrific inside too!
Hope you have a great weekend too!

Beautifully created, couldn't choose a favorite if I had to!! Love the stitching with that die on the 2nd one,and all the details on both, wow, you have done it again, superb!! You also made me 're-think' my shopping habits, sometimes I don't buy a stamp because I can't justify both it and the matching dies, but heck I used to hand cut all mine before they came out with matching dies, so thanks to you (I think..lol) I just purchased a couple new stamp sets without their dies!!! It was a big step, but I did it lol!!

What a cute trio of cards! The colors are so fun together! Love that stitching as accent too, it makes it feel like a little nest. Looks like an adorable set too Leslie!

Both cards are beautiful Leslie! Love the colours, so bright and cheerful. I must say that is a lot of fussy cutting you did, but well worth the outcome, and your sewing is always so perfect. I used to stitch almost on every card and I've gotten away from it, but think I might need to start again, I love the look, it just finishes off the card. I love the silly stitched circle and how you placed your sentiment inside. Good for you for making 5 cards, that's a nice addition to your stash. I'm still struggling at doing cards, but I'll get there. Hands are very sore, had another flare up this week :(. Enjoy your weekend Leslie.

Oh my , I'm loving the stitching I see - both real and from the die. These cards are so so pretty and I love that you showed us two of them as they are quite different in style. Can't pick which one I like better! But the wreath is so clever and beautifully done! Definitely admire the clean folksy and happy look you got with these images.

I believe I remember you telling me that CAS designs were a challenge. Hmm, not any more my friend. These cards are so pretty. I love the clean crisp white background and the vibrant colors you've used. That Lil' Inker die set was such a fabulous choice for the second background - what a great layout! What a match made in heaven! Don't you love it when a plan comes together (smiling).

Ooh, what sweet cards with this set! I love the primitive feel to them and think both cards are darling! I love the way you've used the circular stitched die on the second card (interesting idea and one I'll have to remember), and I'm with you about fussy cutting...it's so relaxing. Hugs!
