Today's cards were sent to some long-time friends who are really more like family. You know the saying "friends are the family you choose yourself"? We raised our kids together, went on vacations together, mourned family losses together... but today it's all about the merry.
First card:
- Memory Box Snowman Heart Collage
- Poppystamps Snowflake Ribbon
- Taylored Expressions Stitched Rectangle Stacklets
These collage dies have some small, fiddly parts, but still make for quick cards. They even have tiny dots that cut out for the eyes and snowman buttons, but I did those with a Sakura glaze pen. All parts were cut in white and any coloring was done with Copics.
I used white glitter paper for the Snowflake Ribbon on the first card, and some old SU patterned paper on both. The "merry" sentiment is Power Poppy.
Penguin card:
- Memory Box Penguin Collage
- Poppystamps Marais Snowflake
- Taylored Expressions Stitched Rectangle Stacklets
I'll check in with you later this week. Happy holidays!

Two gorgeous Christmas cards. Love the elements you chose... Super...Especially the snowman!
What a great way to start my day! Love both of these Leslie, they are beautiful! Your choice of paper is perfect, soft and subtle. I would have to say the snowman is my favourite of the two, simple because I have a soft spot for snowmen. I don't think I could ever have too many snowmen in my collection! As far as wrapping and card making, almost done - two more gifts to buy and a couple more cards to make. Thanks for sharing today, enjoy your week.
Oh, I love these cards. What a clever way to use these dies In the midst of Christmas, my printer died so I'm in the process of setting up a new one. UGH!! Just when I needed to print out the Reindeer Food recipe - LOL!! I put on Christmas music to help me along!
These are FABULOUS Leslie (a few more dies for my wishlist, lol) and I'm sure they will be treasured (as I treasure the one I received the other day). Holiday party is over ... now to concentrate on Christmas cards, gifts, wrapping, visiting. Awesome inspirational cards my friend ... thanks for sharing.
Leslie, your loving description of friends and times well spent remind me of your generous spirit all year long. I especially like the snowman card with the peek at your background, but the darling pengie is sweet, too! Beautifully done. Leslie, I always get the best ideas from your cards. Thank you for the lovely treasure which greeted me yesterday in my mailbox! I'm still addressing my cards - so slow! I remember that my little tradition was doing them on Thanksgiving week-end - what happened to that tradition? Thinking I might try to reincorporate it next year. Thanks for the inspiration, my now rolling-stone-gathers-no-moss friend! huggers, de
cute. Love the snowman in the heart. Nice idea. I agree, if you're not having fun... don't do it. BIG GRIN. Have a great day
I'm in love with both of these cards! It would be really hard to pick a favorite as they both have such appeal! These will be perfect for your friends & I know they will save your card just as I will mine. I have every card you have ever sent me! They are all too precious to throw away and I get such enjoyment from looking at them hanging in my craft room! Glad you are getting caught up enough to have "spare" time! Enjoy!
Two beautiful Christmas cards Leslie, love these dies you have used with those pretty backing papers, makes a wonderful layout.
Hugs Pam x
Aww!! what an adorable pair of Christmas cards, love them both, I just couldn't pick one.
And you sparked my memory Leslie, I think I have that pad of old, retired DSP from SU you used on these cards, MUST GO FIND IT!!!
Love the Snowflake die with the strand that runs from one side to the other, so pretty.
Big hugs.
Maria Rodriguez.
I LOVE your combo of dies...what great designs!!! So cute!
You and your chilly characters are ahead of me. My cards are made but I still have some addressing and note writing to get done. Cleared my schedule for tomorrow to get that done. Love these cute characters. I never think to use a heart on a Christmas card.... don't know why because I really like it. Your son is right so I am glad you are officially having fun.
Your friends will so love these, my favorite is the snowman, love his little heart.... like how you did the cheeks on the penguin, so cute and love the stitched snowflake. I feel like I go from stress to relax on and off :) Finishing off some homemade gifts and I will be done.
Both are fabulously gorgeous! Love that ribbon Snowflake die. You always seem to find just the right cute things to use. Glad that you're having fun. Just took my final exam for the semester! Yeah!
Oh Leslie they are gorgeous!! I adore the paper and the design and I know what you mean about friends... Even if you only have one true friend you are blessed. Have a great day!
Fabulous cards, fabulous designs..both are so darn CUTE!! I haven't bought any dies lately (since March..can you believe it) but these are on my wish list! The have so much detail but yet will be easy to mail!! And THANK YOU so much for my beautiful card, I absolutely loved it!!!! My cards will go out Monday hopefully!! Between all the snow we have had and bad roads and of course a certain little Mr 'someone" I haven't been out much, but I will eventually!! Have a wonderful and creative day!!
I was here earlier but my comment didn't make it so I will try again! I love both of your cards but I have to say the little snowman inside the heart is my favorite. I would never have paired the two together. Snowman and hearts.....who knew!!
As always, the detail is amazing! Your cards are always so "polished" -- truly professional looking. The figures of the snowman and penguin are just darling.
Oh my goodness these are so adorble Leslie. I just love how you did the penguin and snowman inside the die cut.
These are both so cool, Leslie! Love the "windows" and the cute characters.
Hee hee Adorable! That paper is soft and pretty perfect for the background. The hint of sparkle is perfect as well.
