Vintage Baby

Hello, friends!  Well, it's Shop Till You Drop Day or, as in my case, Stay Home and Craft Day.  I've got a baby shower to go to tomorrow and I finished the card in the nick of time.  Easiest card I ever made, too, seeing as how the paper did all the work.

It's busy times like these I'm happy I've got a cupboard full of designer paper.  The mom to be loves vintage so I pulled out this Graphic 45 "Precious Memories" collection.  Oh, I thought about fancying it up a bit more, but in the end I just cut a scalloped edge and added ribbon and buttons.  The folded card measures 3 3/4" x 6 3/4".

There's not much to shout about except to say it's okay to go easy on yourself sometimes.  It's still a hand crafted card and Graphic 45 did a much better job than I could have done in a pinch.  Now I'm heading back to the coloring table for a while.  Have a happy day!

It's a great card, Leslie, and good for you for letting the paper do the "work!" Sometimes we just need to do that. Have a fun time in your craft room and enjoy the shower tomorrow.

Hi, Leslie! Don't you love those amazing creations we come up that took so little time? The G45 paper is lovely! Perfect for your mother to be. Love those darling little buttons, and your casual ribbon, that looks perfectly tied. I am also very partial to this shape card - shows off beautiful horizontal lines and giving plenty of room on the inside to write a note. Beautiful, Leslie! xx

I love vintage as well, plus all the little baby faces! Just adorable. I'm sure the Mom-to-be will cherish it! Sometimes paper is just enough. No shopping for either - just cleaning up from yesterday and getting ready for Xmas! Have a great weekend!

Oh my, this is beautiful Leslie! I love the vintage look of this. It's great when you can find papers that make your card! And of course you always add your special touch to finish off with the added scallop border, buttons and ribbon. A wonderful keepsake for sure, I know she will love it.
Even though being in Canada for your Black Friday specials and discounts for online shopping, I have been tempted but didn't go through with it. Exchange is .32 cents on the $, not quite worth it right now. It's not like I need new, although new is always nice, I have so much I haven't even used. So I'm with you, just stay home and craft! Enjoy the rest of your Thanksgiving holiday!

I love it when the paper does the work for you and all you have to do is add a few embellishments and this looks so sweet, love the little lace edge and the cute buttons to go with those vintage baby images!!
Have a great time at the shower :)
We went to a couple of stores this evening, Barnes and Nobles had 30% off magazines, plus 10% more cause we have the membership card, so you know I had to get a couple more magazines with more crafting goodies :)

Well, this just proves that you can never have too much paper! The paper you chose was perfect & with the touch of gingham & lace, and buttons I don't know what more she could ask for. I'm sure she will treasure this card & it will be saved in a scrapbook to show the new little one when she gets older! It's gorgeous!!

Adorable baby card, and sometimes it is so fun to let the papers totally be the focal point and these papers are perfect for that! Yes, I am not a shop til you drop person either and being in my creative room is good enough for me lol....I was hoping though to shop some of the crafty online places but never even did that...had a bad cold and soent most of my time watching Hallmark movies, now that is what I call a good day!!

No need to apologize, Leslie. I think we've both earned the slower, easier pace now. I still find myself striving when I shouldn't though. Like you, I'm not about to go out to the malls after Thanksgiving. In fact, I rarely go to the malls. I prefer to stay home and shop on line if I need something. I love this Graphic 45 paper and still have some too. In fact, I used it on a Christmas card which you seen. Thank you, Leslie for always being so faithful and kind to stop by my little blog. You're about the only traffic I get (smiling). I am doing a little marketing for Simon Says Stamp for the new releases. They always ask before hand so I have the option to say yay or nah and that's a good thing (smiling). This card reminds me of one I made right before Teddy was born - I adore that paper! Another lovely card, Leslie.
