Oh Deer, Christmas is Near!

You know you love a stamp set a lot when you bookmark it after seeing it on someone's blog and months later you still love it enough to go back and get it.  That's the story with this "Oh Deer" stamp set by Lil' inkers.  I was smitten after seeing this card on Joan Bardee's blog way back in May, but I waited... and then when I was a lucky random winner in Darnell's most recent NBUS (never before used schtuff) challenge I went shopping.  Of course, you can never get just one thing, can you?  More on that later.  Many thanks to Joan and Darnell!

As soon as I had time I sat down and made three cards, similar, but with small differences.  All are watercolored with Tombow markers on Arches 140 lb hot pressed watercolor paper.  The first is on a red card base.

The next two are on a kraft-color base.  Each uses a different paper from the retired BasicGrey "Jovial" collection, and the curve is cut with Spellbinders A2 Bracket Borders One.  I changed up the banner color on each card and gave one a blue wash in the background.  Finished with some splatters toward the top of each image.

There's one more sentiment in the set, plus snow and holly berry stamps, but I'll save those for another time.  Three cards is all I had in me when it comes to production line stamping.  I hope you enjoyed!  These are my first Lil' inkers stamps and they've got me hooked now.  Have a happy day!

Oh Deer! I think I must have this stamp. I just love what you've done with this stamp and that pretty paper. I love the water color. Is there no limit to your talent? (I off now to do a little shopping in my PJ's)

oh MY MY MY! Leslie, how do you constantly outdo yourself? I saw the first card, and my jaw dropped and the delicate water color on top, and the drama of the gorgeous black paper on the bottom. And then the next two cards popped up - and I thought - HOW DOES SHE DO IT? I can see why you are now hooked - they are darling and beautiful all rolled up together! Miss Leslie, you are amazing in your unique design style - it is ALWAYS beautiful, no matter what technique or coloring medium you use. xx

Your water colouring is wonderful, love the backgrounds on these as well, you have a knack for background water colouring, it's never too much is just perfect, and then the paint splatter, again never overdone! You always amaze me with your creativity! Stunning cards Leslie!

What fabulous cards! This is my first time seeing this stamp and these images are gorgeous with your coloring. Pairing them with the die and beautiful papers is masterful. I have a hard time picking, but I like the first one best. Black and red and comfort and joy = perfect.

Love. Love. Love!!! The papers, the illustration, the feel, the look I may have to take a look at that stamp set (smiling). Our daughter has mounted deer antlers over her fire place. She found them in a shop in Germany and just had to bring them home (to her house) *haha* This is a card design she would love!
