Get Well Dog Two Ways

Hi there!  Eclipse day is here at last and soon all the craziness in Oregon will settle down.  Have you seen the traffic on the news?  Sure glad I'm not out there!  We've got our glasses and will walk a few steps to a break in the trees to watch it.  We're just a little bit south of the direct line, so it should still be pretty impressive.

Today's stamping is with a not yet used Whipper Snapper stamp called Get Well Dog.  I've had this one for a while, but just never got around to making a get well card with it.  One day I was looking through my birthday sentiments and saw this quote -- Fiskars Make a Wish Quotes -- and, well, you can see where I went with that:

Giggle!  It's for a guy friend's September birthday.  Watercolored with Gansai Tambi paints on 140 lb hot press watercolor paper.

Since it was a first time use and really such a cute image I went ahead and made a second card with the sentiment that comes with the set.  I watercolored again, but this time put spots on the dog using the picture on the stamp package as a guide.

Way too much fun!  I'll list all ingredients in the recipe below.  Thanks for looking!  Stay safe and happy!

Stamps:  Whipper Snapper Gel Well Dog, Fiskars Make a Wish Quotes (card #2)  Paper:  Fluid 100 140 lb hot press watercolor, white card base, SU brilliant Blue (#1) and So Saffron (#2), Bo Bunny Very Vintage Double Dot designer paper (#1) and Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid designer paper (#2)  Ink:  Palette Noir  Coloring medium:  Gansai Tambi watercolor paints  Accessories:  Signo Uni-ball white gel pen (dots on bandage, both cards),  SU Candy Dots (#1), Memory Box Banner Parade (#1), Memory Box Cross Stitched Frame Borders (#2), Paper Smooches Dog Icons (#2), Scotch brand foam mounting tape (#2)

Leslie, your card completely had me in stitches! Who else could a beat-up, one-eyed doggy OH-SO-CUTELY, and have him wishing a happy birthday! And the coloring and highlighting are really FUN! I especially like the parentheses around the crazy sentiment. It's a fabulous card and your friend will thoroughly enjoy it! Yes, the eclipse frenzy is crazy here, too. We just happen to be in a zone where the partial (for this location) eclipse will not be visible because we will be overcast. Nature is so amazing, isn't she? hugs, de

Fabulous cards Leslie! Love them both. This doggie is just too darn cute. Your creativity always blows my mind. I like how you did the black spots on your second card, and the heart die with the dog paw print is so cute! Enjoy the solar eclipse. I don't have the glasses so I'll just stay indoors! It's suppose to cloud over today, so not sure how much those that can see in our area will be able to see.

Your cards are even more adorable in real life my friend. It was so fun having our play day on Friday. BTW, that is the hot press paper I have, but only have 1 piece left. TFS your adorable get well cards, Leslie. Hugs..

OMG these are so cute! Awesome coloring as always and I just love your overall designs! Sure to bring on the smiles! Enjoy the eclipse! We will only see about 80% here in Ohio but will still be an 'experience'! And yes, I've seen the news with all the traffic ... OMG!! LOL

Your little dog is so cute! I love how the two cards turned out so different! We only saw a sliver of the eclipse in PA,, but the traffic was horrendous. Glad we stayed home for the event!

Oh, Leslie, what an adorable pup! Hehe! I love the bandage and also love the thermometer in his mouth! What fun! And what amazing coloring especially with the spots on the second pup! Both are beautifully finished, and how adorable is that paw print heart!?! Yes, I'm sure there was a lot of traffic, but it was fun to see even here in South Florida the crescent-shaped sun as the moon passed by through our make-shift viewer Walt made. I saw the complete darkness shown on TV, and the crowd was wow'd by it. But now it's over, and life is back to normal (whatever that is). Thanks for two adorable cards! Hugs!

Your watercoloring is so masterful, Leslie, and way to go using your NBUS! I love both of these adorable cards! Using the get well dog stamp for the manly and funny birthday card was just genius and that plaid on the second one? LOVE!!! I am so glad to hear you were almost at the eclipicenter and didn't have to be in the traffic! How awesome for you!! Hugs, Darnell

I don't think there is a medium out there that you can not color amazing with, these are both just fantastic, love the spots you did on the second card and that heart with the paw print in it is just too sweet!

Your cards are as cute as can be. I love dogs so these definitely got my attention. Great layouts and coloring. We were 30 miles from where the eclipse was suppose to be the best viewing. Even back roads were bumper to bumper that day. Some locals were late for work even though they left early to get there.
