Sweet Treats

Happy Monday, stamper friends!  We've been having some sunshine and it's making me feel all cheery.  Even when I'm not outside basking in it it's so wonderful to see the rooms suffused with all that beautiful light.  I hope you're getting to enjoy it where you are, too.

Speaking of cheery, today's card is a happy thing I made for one of my June birthdays.  I've had both the treat tier and sentiment stamps for, oh... about SEVEN YEARS and am just now getting around to using them for the first time.  Really.  Seven years.  When I figured it out I was shocked.  I bought them specifically for each other, thought they were so cute and still do.  Sheesh.  Oh, well... ever since I made up my mind to focus on the not yet used stamps and supplies it's as though I've saved up years worth of Christmas presents and am finally opening them.  And they're all stamping supplies!  How fun is that?!

The treats are Stampendous and the sentiment is Impression Obsession, but they look like they were made for each other.  I watercolored with Gansai Tambi paints, added glitter, and dotted the strawberries with a white gel pen.  The tier is painted all silver-shimmery.

The DCWV papers come pre-glittered.  This particular mat stack (years old) is called "Baby Girl", but is mostly multipurpose.  I've used it many times and still have lots left.  Those mat stacks are packed full!

Well, I must run for now.  I'll list ingredients below.  Have a sweet day!

Stamps:  Stampendous Tiers of Treats, Impression Obsession sentiment  Paper:  140 lb Arches hot press watercolor, white card base, Memory Box Granny Smith card stock, DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Girl designer paper  Ink:  Palette Noir  Coloring Medium:  Gansai Tambi watercolor paints  Accessories:  Stickles Stardust glitter glue, white gel pen, enamel dot, Fiskars scallop edge scissors, Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters dies

Fabulous, Leslie! You're right - the stamps look like they were made for each other. I love all the different layers. I sure recognize the papers, as I have that matstack, too:) (The Baby Boy one, too.)

So happy to see your post today! Your card is so 'sweet'. The sentiment and stamp was surely made for each other! Beautifully watercoloured as always, love your layout and papers ( I too, have the girl and boy matstack of this DCWV line - it was very popular back when). It's such a happy card, makes me smile, so fresh and springy feeling to it. Thanks for sharing. I"m off today (last day of vacation :(, so hope to get a few cards made. Bill and I spent a lot of time out at the parks birding this past week so haven't had much time for carding. Have a wonderful week.

cute. Love the sweets. I can't say I never used one of my stamps because as soon as I bring it home I stamp with it to put into my database, but then it goes in a drawer and I know I have a ton that have never seen the light of day again. BIG GRIN. One day...
Have a great day

Oh my, Leslie...your watercoloring is exquisite!! Only you can add all the different DSP's and make the results so beautiful and well balanced. TFS my friend. I am headed outside for more weeding in the shady areas. It was 86 yesterday and I think will be warmer today. Still got in 2 1/2 hours yesterday of weeding. Starting our sitting under the trees for lunch...that means Summer is here at least for now :-) Enjoy your gorgeous gardens my friend. Hugs..

What a cute card. I love how it all came together. If you didn't tell us I would think it was a stamp set. They go together so well!! I love the little treats you colored in so well. I think it's time to raid the frig!

Very pretty! They do look like they are made for each other. Love those new paints you are using and it all goes so well with your dp. Glad you're having some sunny weather. We had some storms come through today, but cleared off for now. I don't mind a little free yard watering every now and again.

What a treat to use two different manufacturers' images, and have them look so fantastic together! It certainly DOES feel like Christmas when using our old stash stuff. I find that I love them even more when they are finally inked to paper! This duo was surely destined to be together. You coloring, paper choices and colors all make this a darling, beautiful it's fun seeing your pretty birthday-Christmas cards! xoxo

I have this stamp too that I've never used Leslie! It's so cute! Why haven't I?! Well, it's sitting behind another so I moved it. I'm challenged to use it and inspired by your beautiful coloring and design! TFS! What a delightful card!
