Altenew Daffodil

Greetings friends!  Who knew I'd be so long between posts?  Not I.  First one thing and then another kept me from my happy place, and not all of it was very much fun.  Think "mail theft" and "bank account" and you might get an idea of what I've been dealing with.  'Nuff said on that!

If I stay away from stamping too long I get out of the groove.  It gets more difficult.  Know what I mean?  I thought I'd ease back in with something simple and relaxing.  I bought this Altenew Wishing You set for the sentiments -- lots to work with there.  However, it also comes with this pretty daffodil and a hummingbird.  I couldn't fit the hummingbird on my A2 card, but here's the daffodil and one of the many sentiment combos.

After embossing the daffodil in white I watercolored with Gansai Tambi paints on Strathmore Vellum Surface mixed media paper.  Watercoloring on this paper is a different experience, but I like it for a change.  I also did some light smooshing and splattering, but because I wanted a soft and airy look I kept that to a minimum.

I smooshed aqua paint on the die cut corner, too.  Lastly, the sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.

I'll be back on Wednesday with something I made before all the bad stuff happened.  Hopefully everything will be back to normal soon.  Have a happy day!

Stamps:  Altenew Wishing You  Paper:  Strathmore Mixed Media Vellum Surface, Bazzill textured  Ink:  Versamark, Versafine Onyx Black  Coloring medium:  Gansai Tambi watercolor paints  Accessories:  Die-namites Scrolly Corner die

Beautiful CAS smooshed and splattered background for your beautifully colored and heat embossed daffodil, Leslie. TFS and so sorry all is not rosy. BTW, your card would be perfect for our CAS Mix Up May Challenge: Stamping, Splatters and your choice..die cuts, etc. Would love to have you play along my friend. So happy to be home again, but had the most creative and fun trip to our stamp retreat in BC. BTW..photos on my blog this a.m.:-) A big hug...

What a fantastic card! Doesn't look like you were trying to get back in the groove at all! Daffodils are one of my favorites. Sadly, they didn't last long here in NY because of heavy spring rains.

So sorry about the bad stuff! Frightening and maddening, I'm sure. As for your posting, I was just thinking that it had been awhile since I'd seen a post...at the same time, I'm trying to get back into the groove myself. Beautiful daffodil, and that die is gorgeous.

Bad things should never happen to good people! Will pray it gets settled quickly with no ill effects! Your card is gorgeous! LOVE that daffodil and the watercoloring is just perfect! Embossing it first in white is brilliant as it makes it really stand out! Awesome job! Welcome back!

Beautiful card Leslie! Your watercolouring always 'wows' me, actually everything you do wows me!
Gorgeous layout, love the flourish and how you added colour to blend with the rest of your card.
You have such gorgeous 'smooshing' effects, I always seem to get too much ink when I smoosh, yours are always so soft and muted. I'm sorry to hear what you are going through, it's a very uneasy feeling. I hope it gets resolved soon. Although it's not the same but I have had my credit card compromise twice in the last year, thank goodness the banks are understanding about these types of things. I look forward to your Wed post. I'm off this week, so doing lots of house cleaning and yard type jobs, but I hope to squeeze in a bit of stamping time.

So gorgeous. Reminds me of home and the flowers that we always had growing in the gardens. And another new product that I've never heard of that Gansai Tambi watercolor paints. I love how they look on the vellum. Also love that corner die you used. It really adds some pizazz to the layout. So sorry about the financial issues. I hope that you get it worked out quickly. Some people are just so rotten!

Sorry to hear about your problems, we have gone through people getting our credit card accounts and just last week had to get a new credit card because someone tried to charge a vacation on our account. The mail theft sounds worse.
Your card is just beautiful and will be very touching for someone going through a rough time. Love the softness you also gave to the background of the card and the die cut corner is just perfect!!

OMG I'm so sorry you are having to deal with all that 'bad stuff' ... I know it can be a nightmare! Your card is absolutely beautiful! I love your choice of card color ... that aqua really makes your beautifully colored daffodil POP! Just gorgeous my friend! Keep your chin up ... better days ahead!

Oh no! I'm so sorry for all you've had to go through. How awful!!! Your card is awesome. I'm glad you had some time to play.

Love this beauty and especially the light smooching! Yep, beautiful! I'm sorry you had to deal with thief issues! It's stressful and sometimes hard to fight against. We went through IRS fraud and then they tried at least 5 times to open credit card accounts!

Leslie I'm so sorry that you've had to deal with stuff like that. It can't have been easy.
Your card is lovely and so perfect for spring.

Oh Leslie I am so sorry. I know that is really frustrating and an ordeal to get fixed. Hopefully it got straightened out and you are watching everything closely. Hugs and breathe... This daffodil is wonderful embossed and then your light colors. Beautiful design.

Leslie, your watercoloring skills once again have melted my heart - such close attention to gently applied colors against the white EP - it's breathtaking! It always amazes me how you find different ways of introducing Light in your flowers. Beautiful card (and love the sentiment).

I'm sorry to hear about the legal woes. It really "grrrrr" gripes me that ANY bank these days does not do paperless billing to protect our accounts - so many of them do not offer that in this day and age! Hoping you have it all straightened out, because I want to see more Wally and Lulu adventures soon!

Thinking of you fondly
