Action Santa

I feel like I'm racing along like Santa, but it's all starting to come together.  The house is decorated and I've got only a few more cards to make.  They're getting simpler and simpler as I go along.  Even this one is pretty simple, really.  Stamped and colored on a spare-part embossed panel that was laying on my table.  I thought the swirls resembled snow flurries, or maybe Santa's big hurry has created an avalanche.  Uh oh!

Santa is Power Poppy's Action Santa set.  So cute and fun and festive for Christmas!  I love this one, but, you know, I've got a kid in me who just won't be restrained.

The embossing is a large Darice Corner Scroll Background on Neenah 110 lb card stock.  I shaded the swirls with blue to help bring them into the scene.  Ordinarily I use X-Press It Blending Card for Copic coloring, but I like the way the markers blend on Neenah.  I have to be more careful about feathering outside the lines, though.  There are a couple of "oops" on this.  That's the thing about X-Press It -- you don't get the feathering/bleeding.  Doesn't make it "oops" proof, but it helps.

Moving right along... I've got more simple cards to share next week, but I hope to do some coloring, as well.  See you soon!

Love how you colored the image and the embossing in the corner suggests snow movement as Santa races down the hill. Beautiful Leslie.

So cute Leslie for a young or old kid! Your coloring is so bright and beautiful. I love your touches of blue on your dry eb swirls to make them blend into your snow so nicely. TFS my friend. Hugs, nancy

Darling Santa card, Leslie. I have that one in the works...I had to buy the stamp set for our daughter's card this year as she loves those scooters! I really like your blue background and snow swirled embossing!! So much fun!

This is fantastic! LOVE the santa image & of course, you have colored him brilliantly! That embossed corner is just absolutely perfect! I'm glad you have your house decorated! Did your fur-babies "help" with the decorating? Brady always does! He has been really good this year, though. The tree is still standing! lol

Love Action Santa and how you created your scene. Your colouring is fabulous Leslie. Love how you incorporated the embossed swirls. Overall, it's a fun card - I love it all! Good for you for only having a few cards left to do. I have so many left to do I don't think I"m going to get finished. Working 11 hrs days for the last month, doesn't leave me much time for card making. And the weekends just seemed filled with shopping for the holidays and other routine chores. Looking forward to your next weeks postings. Have a wonderful weekend!

I am with you on the racing around.... glad you have it all decorated and working on a few last minute things. Haven't gotten their yet, but I will this week. :-) Santa is darling and you make it look so awesome with the swirly snow at the bottom. Clever design and totally FUN! Adorable.

Wow! Fabulous. I love how you used the swirls to mimic snow. That is such a cute image too. Glad you are all ready. I'm still playing catch up with getting cards made. I did get all of my shopping done and the gifts for the California family have gone postal.

Oh, Leslie, this is just darling, and I think Action Santa definitely did create that avalanche! Creativity is you!! Love your coloring, and I know what you mean about the difference between X-Press It and Neenah! I still struggle with the difference in how the markers color on each one. Hugs!
