Well, hello! I'm glad you found me at my new home. I hope you like the look of things. I think a fresh start will be good all the way around. So, let's get to it, shall we?
There's no time like the present to get started on the Christmas cards. July is the half-way mark, but when you think about it, we really don't have a whole six months left. Eeek! After all, it's almost August, and we should start mailing Christmas cards early in December... so we're really talking more like four months. Eeek, again! Okay, then... here's my first card in the Christmas countdown:
With all the sparkle and shine it's not the easiest card to photograph, but I think you'll get the gist of it.
- I cut my new Tutti Poinsettia Corner die twice from red glitter paper and positioned it under the square frame. Trimmed off the overhang. Backed the center of each poinsettia with a 1/4" punched circle so I could place a little piece of foam mounting tape underneath for support. There is gold glitter on the flower centers, too, but barely noticeable in the photo.
- Embossed the bird and the "noel" in gold, then rubbed olive and amethyst ink over the panel. Added falling snow with a white gel pen.
- Draped Memory Box Tinsel Ropes across the top.
The inside was not done at the time of this photo, but I have since gold embossed a sentiment and decorated with the Tinsel Ropes.
That's it in a nutshell. I'll sum it all up in the recipe below. Sheesh, it looks like winter here on the blog today. Next post I'll be back to summertime stamping. Hope to see you soon!
Linking up to these challenges:
- Die Cut Divas -- Make it Glitter, ends July 31st My die cuts are glitter paper and there's gold glitter in the flower centers.
- The 12 Months of Christmas -- July, flowers optional, ends July 31st. I used die cut poinsettias.
Stamps: Inkadinkado Winter Birds and Holiday Silhouettes Paper: Neenah 110 lb white, red glitter paper Ink: Versamark, amethyst, olive Accessories: Stickles Goldenrod glitter, gold embossing powder, Signo white gel pen, Tutti Poinsettia Corner, Memory Box Tinsel Ropes, Spellbinders Grand Squares, Scotch brand foam mounting tape

Wow! You're off and running! And with something gorgeous for us to feast our eyes on. So pretty and dimensional. I love your talent for design. I get nervous if I don't have everything centered. The placement of the dies and stamp make this design just dreamy.
Love, Love, Love your new 'home' and your gorgeous fabulous Christmas card! Wow Leslie this is truly amazing, love the red glittery paper you used for your poinsettia die cut, the gold embossing and then how you finished up with your glittery tinsel rope - stunning my friend! I finished my 29 card order late last night (like 12:30 am) so can't wait to start on some new stuff, like colouring! Once again you have blown my mind with your creativity, and I love when you do so. Look forward to your next post when time permits!

Hi Leslie, your new blog looks great. Christmas already, lol, your card is lovely, great idea to add the wee circle below the middle of the poinsettias to lift them whilst hiding the foam pads.
