Magnolia Blossom Trio

I hope you don't mind a spring card in August.  I simply have to use the rest of my Magnolia collection from Memory Box before winter sets in.  I've been hooked on dies lately and don't mind the tedium of small parts the way I did in the past.  I hope it's not just a phase because I have a basketful of dies I haven't used yet.

I've combined the Memory Box Magnolia Blossom Trio and Vibrant Leaf Corner.  Love the leaf corner because it can be cut twice and put together as a frame.  Today I felt the corner was enough.  The little bird is Memory Box from 2015, and the "hello" is a Cottage Cutz die.

For color I brushed on Distress Oxide inks with a sponge tip applicator.  The black background is embossed with the Spellbinders Stylized Calla Lily folder which is barely visible in the first photo, but shows a little better in the photo below.  In real life it can be seen and felt quite nicely.

Now to wrap things up with the challenges my card is visiting:

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge -- They have an optional mood board, but my Magnolia blossoms do resemble the pretty cherry blossom branch on the board.
NBUS Challenge #52 -- Magnolia Blossom Trio and Vibrant Leaf Corner are both first time use.

That was fun!  Thanks for stopping by.  Take care till we meet again.

Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar White, other black, Bazzill Prism Light Crabapple for sentiment and card base  Ink for coloring:  Distress Oxide Milled Lavender, Victorian Velvet, Cracked Pistachio, Lucky Clover, Scattered Straw, Weathered Wood  Dies:  Memory Box Magnolia Blossom Trio, Vibrant Leaf Corner, Finnegan Fronds bird, Cottage Cutz Hello Phrase  Other:  Spellbinders Stylized Calla Lily 2D embossing folder, Memory Box Fairy Jewels

Small parts in a die set usually make me sigh but you have used them to make one beautiful card my friend. You have a great eye for color and design! Well done!

Leslie, this is absolutely gorgeous. Using a black embossed background just makes your florals pop. Lovely design, beautiful colours for your magnolias. And of course the sweet little bird. Thank you for inspiring me. I've had these dies from when they were first released, but I not been actively making cards for the last few months. Sorry I haven't been commenting lately, I've just been so far behind in everything card related. Our kitchen reno is pretty much done, just window, door frames and baseboards left. Hope you are doing well? As always, love when you create. Take care,

WOW, this card is stunning!! Love the black background, it really sets off those gorgeous magnolias, I think Memory Box hit it out of the park with their magnolia dies and you have certainly showcased them beautifully! I also hit the cottage cutz xmas in July sale, of course I did , right!! I have so many new things to play with I finally just had to put them all away and hope I remember to use them!!

Leslie, I don't mind one bit! Your magnolias are so beautifully sponged with pink, and they pair so well together with that fun leafy corner die - what a brilliant design that is! I love the drama the black brings to the party, but you've given it a little lightness with that embossing. Now can we just talk about that sneaky bird? HELLOOO sweetie!
I wouldn't mind seeing it these again in winter!

OMG...Your black dry embossed background really makes your beautifully colored and arranged die cut flowers, leaves and border corner Pop!. I always LOVE when you use your sweet die cut bird too. Your die cut scenes and how you mix and match products from different craft companies are so much fun:-) Love and hugs, my dear friend.
