Birds at Feeder

Hello, and welcome back to springtime!  Okay, it's not spring quite yet, but we can dream, can't we?  Most days here the rain has been pouring, and we even had some freezing rain and snow last Friday.  I'm feeling a little housebound...

Today's card is using a stamp from my week-after-Christmas online shopping trip.  It's an Inkadinkado stamp called "Bird Feeder".  Probably an older stamp as I found it a few pages back on this website.  I made three different cards with it, this being the one I like best, stamped in a light gray ink and then watercolored, soft with not too much contrast.

I used Stampin' Up! inks for watercoloring, and an old Hero Arts sentiment.  Dipped into my massive brads collection to secure the sentiment die cut, but otherwise no embellishment.

Stamping has been set aside for the time being as I've begun painting my stamp room, and it's as big a bother as I expected it to be.  More about that later.  I'll pop back in again soon.  Wishing you well!

Stamps:  Inkadinkado Bird Feeder, Hero Arts sentiment  Paper:  140 lb Arches hot press watercolor, Bazzill green, Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden designer paper  Ink:  Ranger Archival Shadow Grey, Versafine Onyx Black  Accessories:  Brads, Memory Box Oval Master Frame, Spellbinders Grommet Tags

Wow! this is stunning. Beautiful watercolouring Leslie, you do this so well. Love the muted background colours, it just makes everything so dreamy looking. And the paper is perfect!Funny that I see your card today using this image, because I have had this stamp on my table for a couple of weeks now pondering when to use it. Now I'm intimidated! I think I'll wait a while longer! Thanks for sharing a beautiful card today, I know I'll be thinking of this one today at work! Have a wonderful day.

your water color skills melt my heart, Leslie. So lovely, delicate, light-hearted, endearing, and of course, GORGEOUS! These sweeties pick up the colors in your pretty leaves remarkably! I like Inkadinkadoo stamps - they are so pretty with lots of detail! Your background paper looks amazing since it highlights all your watercolor hues! Painting your room! I wish I could do that again - I always treasured being able to do everything inside my house, including the painting. My husband was always grateful that I enjoyed painting. Not so much these days, and I long to "pull my weight" so to speak and accomplish things around the house! Apologies for not being able to leave comments as much as I'd like to - I know you know the drill for me. huggers, de

This is gorgeous and should be framed. I thought the birds were part of the paper pack. You matched them so well to go with the papers. You have truly mastered the art of coloring.

Gorgeous soft no line watercoloring Leslie. Your gold finches are as beautiful as in a photo. We are feeding our rufus humming birds and the daffidils and forsythia are beginning to bloom, so know Spring is not far behind. TFS your Spring beauty my friend. Hugs...

The goldfinches are darling! This is such a detailed card...definitely your specialty. (We were in Portland last weekend and the rain never stopped. Today, it's raining here, and snow is in the forecast for the next three days. Our big drifts have melted a lot, but I can't get into our little shed in the back because of a frozen snowdrift in front of the door. This winter has gone on forever.)

If I tried to no-line watercolor this, it would be a muddy mess. This is so beautiful like a painting Leslie!

Well, what a lovely surprise when this landed in my mailbox! I remember reading this post and thinking how AMAZING your no-line coloring was on this, not to mention what a sweet image it is. It's even more beautiful in person. Thank you SO much for brightening my birthday week with this beauty, Leslie. It's on display now in my china cabinet. :-)
