A Funny Punny for My Honey

Hello, friends!  A new week, a new card.  I splurged a whole $6 and bought the new Va-Va-Valentines digi set from Power Poppy and made this card for my one and only:

This particular image resonates with me as I know it will Rich.  With two Golden Retrievers in the house, socks are always disappearing.  They're never damaged, but they do get carried off.  So, there you go -- I was tee heeing all over the place when I saw this.

I made a 4 1/2" card, simple, using some of the very few Valentine papers I have.  I tried to keep it somewhat manly, but, hey, it's a Valentine.  Copic coloring of the image, sparkly punched hearts, an old Spellbinders Heart Circle, ribbon... easy stuff.

I made sure I used the sparkly hearts specifically so I could play along in this month's Power & Spark Challenge at Power Poppy:  Love to Sparkle.

Additionally, I'm right on time to join The Paper Players Challenge:  Will You Be My Valentine.

Girls just gotta have fun!  I hope you're having fun, too!

Love it! I just bought this digi set mid week, but haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I agree, your card image is so perfect - hence the carried off sock syndrome! Everything is perfectly executed - fabulous colouring, die cuts (I was just looking at this circle heart die on the weekend, thinking I should use it soon as valentines is next week), glittered hearts and your valentine ribbon! Thanks for starting my Monday off with a smile - love when you create! Have a wonderful day!

Love it and perfect for your hubby, made me laugh reading it!! I bought this set too after seeing it on another blog, my first digi set from Power Poppy!!
My Mack is a sock thief too and I might make this my hubby's valentine too, of course Mack is a thief of all things and believe me he does too, this morning it was a wash cloth right off the towel rack, and then he taunts me about 5 feet away and then runs like a bat out of you know where for me to chase him, a game this old lady does not like!!

Oh so cute! Love the socks. The card is adorable!

Oh, he will adore this! I can't believe how perfect it is considering where your socks go! Be glad they don't chew them. My daughter's cat chews holes in every pair of clean socks she finds. She won't touch them if they have been worn, but if she finds one in a laundry basket before they get put away, they are goners! LOVE the image and the valentine circle is gorgeous!

Such a fun socks Valentine Card, Leslie. I have finally learned to not take off my shoes in your house or at least one will quickly disappear...those silly kids! Have not lost any socks though, cuz I never take them off! Rich will love his socks card. TFS my friend. Hugs..

OMG what a cute stamp set and what a funny story! Long ago when I had a dog in the house, it was always my shoes that disappeared! I was the only one in the neighborhood with a closet full of ONE SHOE for each pair! LOL Great coloring and awesome 'put together' ... hubby will LOVE it and get a fun chuckle I'm sure!

This has me smiling, both the card and your story! It’s the best way to ‘lose’ socks: to sweet, furry little faces.

It's a great valentine for your honey! What is it about dogs and socks...and are Golden Retrievers and their relatives especially fond of them?? (Our "granddog" is a black Golden Doodle who has a very blonde Golden father and a homely mother who is half Golden and half Standard Poodle. Anyway, Chloe has carried socks from her puppy-hood.

How cute with the comfy as old socks image! Your heart theme is darling and Rich will love it! Sweet! I guess I need to get started for my hunny! (to go with your funny punny) LOL I love your beautiful coloring, right down to the pink dots inside the white circles! Beautiful, Leslie! Your missing socks saga must keep you both on the proverbial Easter Egg hunt, Leslie! soooo cute! hugs, de

What a great card - I'm sure your husband will love it! I love the sock story. When the girls were living here their Chihuahua always used to sneak into Rachel's room and take her socks and store them away in his little house! She always knew where to look for them! These dogs are so funny!

What a wonderful card, Leslie! Always even more special when it has a bit of a hidden meaning known only to the recipient (and everyone who reads your blog!)

Sugar can't resist socks... especially when I'm wearing them without shoes...think he confuses my feet for his soft toys!
This is a sweet beautiful card!

There wasn't one illustration in this digi release that wasn't cute. I find it very difficult to create masculine cards, so when you can find whimsical illustrations and puny sentiments that fit it's a winner! And this is a winner for sure! Your shading has always been exceptional in my humble opinion, and the highlights around the socks really helps pop those socks. Happy Valentine's Day to a Great Pair!

What she said - pop those socks!
I squealed when I saw this darling card, Leslie, and then went to look up the digital set too. This one is a winner! Your coloring is only topped by the great design and the sparkly heart is the icing on the cake. Love it!

On one of your comments to me recently you admired my use of DSP. I want you to know that someone really special inspired me to get that out - it was you!

This is my favorite in the set and I made one for John using this as well for our anniversary. We don't have missing socks in our house amazingly enough but it is super cute the pun. In fact, don't tell but Curtis asked me to make a card for his girlfriend using this same image for valentines day. :-) It is super cute you will see in a few days. Anyways... I really like the chocolate and strawberry feel with the colors you used. The heart die cut background is darling. Rich will surely love this.
