Warm and Cozy

My stamp room is finally usable again!  Can you feel my happy?  It still needs some finishing touches, so I'll wait to share pictures, but it looks so fresh and pretty and I want to be in there all the time.  I cannot, of course, sigh...

Power Poppy is currently previewing their spring stamp release -- eight new swoonworthy sets and you know I love them all!  For the time being, however, I'm trying to catch up on coloring some of Marcy's digis I've collected.  While I'm in the mood for spring, today's card speaks more to the dark, rainy days we've been having and it makes me feel like curling up by the fire.

Using the Get Wool Soon digi, I made it for an ailing friend who dabbles in knitting and likes a purple and blue color combo.  It's printed on 140 lb hot press watercolor paper and watercolored with Stampin' Up! inks.  I lightened the image before printing, but it was still easy enough to see the detail.  It gave the yarn a nice, soft look.

You may tee hee at what I've got going on there with my knitting project.  I honestly don't know anything about knitting.  Maybe my friend had a good giggle when she received this card, but you know they say laughter is the best medicine.

After painting I unleashed a splatter storm on it in an effort to disguise some inky streaks my printer left behind.  Darn printer, but I love that it lets me watercolor.

I'll be back Wednesday.  Keep stamping, my friends!

Stamps:  Power Poppy Get Wool Soon digi  Paper:  Arches 140 lb hot press watercolor, Brocade Blue, Bazzill dark brown  Ink:  Printer, various Stampin' Up! inks for watercoloring  Accessories:  Scotch brand foam mounting tape to pop up image panel

Oh how pretty, so soft and snuggle-y!! I love your 'knitting' (probably the only kind I could do too as I took a knitting class once and flunked lol)!! Oh yes, yes, I can feel your happy and am looking forward to seeing more of your pretty room, mine is such a BIG mess (want to come and redo mine...lol)...don't I wish!

OMG Leslie..I LOVE how you created such beautiful colors and shading of your wool skeins and small knit sample. Your cup of coffee or tea are all perfect for our wet, dark days, but then there was yesterday...69 degrees, sun shining and we worked outside..cleaning flower beds (me) and pruning (Denny)...so fun. Looks like today will be a good day to knit, read or stamp :-) Sounds like a fun day too:-) Hugs..

Well there ya go again ... the inspiration is just ooozing out of this creation! Your coloring is ALWAYS spot on and I love the theme! Hmmmm Knitting ... not for me! Takes to long and I have to 'think' about what I'm doing ... crocheting is more my style! I can do that and talk at the same time ... always a good thing for me since I do have a habit of being a bit talkative! LOL
Can't wait to see pics of the new creative room ... bet it's awesome! Doesn't it feel good to sit in your chair, look around at all your goodies and give a happy sigh! Yes ... I feel your happy!!! Good for You!!! You deserve it! HUGS ... going to be a good crafting week here ... big SNOW on the way so I'll hide out in the cave!

This is amazing! Your no line colouring is done to perfection. The skeins of wool look so real, and so does the knitted piece. I have knitted for many years, my Mom taught me when I was 8. I've made many blankets, sweaters, socks, mitts etc, but lately haven't had a chance to do any. I have yet to colour this digi. I can't wait to see pictures of your new room - how exciting! Oh, and love the splatter.

Oh my goodness Leslie, I wouldn't even know where to start coloring this but you have done an outstanding job of it, I love the project colors you have going on the needles too, I am sure she didn't laugh but was in Awe of this beauty, I am sure she was very touched by what you created for her :) Great idea to add the splattering to cover the ink smudges.
