Merry Christmas Twice

Hi and welcome back!

I have two CAS cards today with sparkle and texture.  You'll have to trust me about the sparkle.  No matter how sparkly these sentiments looked through the camera lens it did not come through in the photos.  They look more gritty than sparkly, but that's just okay.  There are bigger things to worry about, right?

These slimlines are mini -- 3 1/2 x 6.  Very handy for some designs.  The sentiments are layered for dimension.  I cut a frame by nesting a die in a panel of cardstock which was cut to the desired size.  Took out the center section and dry embossed, then returned it to the frame.

The shimmery ivory card is very elegant and actually more sparkly than the red.  Tsk tsk that it doesn't show.

Two challenges helped me make these cards:

Can You Handle the Pressure -- Must use an embossing folder.  Optional twist is sentiment focus.
CAS Christmas Card Challenge -- Sparkle and/or Shine.  Keep it CAS, cards only.

Since my Cottage Cutz Merry Christmas with Snowflakes die is being used for the first time I'll also join up at NBUS Challenge #42 -- Never before used schtuff.

Thank you for stopping by.  It's a holiday weekend as I post this and I know you have other things to do.  Since we retired we choose to stay home on holiday weekends and let others have the road.  Take care!

Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth Solar white, shimmery ivory, red and gold glitter cardstock  Other:  Cuttlebug Snowflake Swirl embossing folder, Cottage Cutz Merry Christmas w/Snowflakes, Spellbinders Long Classic Rectangles

What a great die sentiment, Leslie - and great cards. It's easy to imagine the sparkle, even if it doesn't come through well in photos. Way to go getting more Christmas cards done.

The sentiment and EB folder combined made beautiful holiday cards! A fabulous way to showcase those sentiments and make then 'shine' (pun intended)! We were to stay at the lake house thru tomorrow but opted to come home last Tuesday as we have so much to do here before the cold sets in, and it was a good decision too as it is cool here and cold there!! We will go back in a couple of weeks for the color!!

Your CC dies look amazing all razzle-dazzled up like that, Leslie! Fantastic use of the dies in the background, too! I hear you about the sparkle - "in the olden days" before cameras were on devices, the old digital cameras worked great! I actually taped a piece of vellum over the flash, and was able to achieve lots of sparkle. Nowadays, we only get the texture of the sparkle. Some things are better in the "olden ways" LOL Beautiful cards! huggers, de

Oh, no, we card-makers know schparkle when we see it, Leslie, and these are definitely schparkly sediments, which shows up fine on my monitor! I love how they are the stars of your pretty design. Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

I totally agree with your holiday plans, Leslie! We're home and celebrating by roasting a pork butt! We'll have pulled pork for days - my husband is not complaining one bit!
Now about your sparkling beauties - I'm seeing the glittery goodness, my friend! Both cards are fabulous - I love the sentiment die! An ingenious way of insetting the embossed panels, too!

Both cards are fabulous, Leslie! You caught the sparkle in the pictures, and I can easily imagine it's much prettier in real life. Love the dimension of the die-cut sentiment and the elegant design! Putting back the embossed panel back in the center is a clever idea. Thank you so much for sharing with us at CAS Christmas!
