Double D Challenge: Pink and White

We're starting a pink and white challenge today at Double D.  Doesn't that sound nice?  You can use a smidgen of another color, if necessary, but predominantly pink and white.  The team has some nice samples to demonstrate.

I colored some cheerful pink and white flowers with sparkly silver centers and two little green leaves.  Sentiment is white embossed on dark gray.

The mood board is so cute with all the retro pink and white.  I would love to have any of these images in stamps or dies.

The team votes on creative winners, but there's also a random drawing for a prize.  See the Double D blog for more info.

The flower set I used is Poppystamps Sending Scribbles.  Colored with Copics, cut out and arranged on a Tutti Designs Butterfly Oval.  I layered the white Butterfly Oval onto gray with only the teensiest hint of gray showing underneath to help the oval stand out from the white card base.  The gray also makes it appear more dimensional than it actually is.  I put hearts on the butterflies just so I could add more pink, but aren't they cute?

I hope you can play along with us at Double D.  Enjoy your day!

Stamps:  Poppystamps Sending Scribbles  Paper:  Neenah Classic White, wood grain card stock, SU Going Gray and Basic Gray  Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, Versamark  Coloring:  Copics  Accessories:  Silver Stickles, white embossing powder, Scotch brand foam mounting tape  Dies:  Tutti Butterfly Oval, Paper Smooches Hearts

Beautiful pink and white masterpiece, Leslie! I want to dangle with those tiny dimensional flowers on your card, right next to the birthday wishes. The little hearts in your butterflies are the perfect touch - I love that so much, that I'll be casing your idea and putting hearts on some butterflies in the future - thanks for the design idea. Wonderful card! hugs, de

Oh my goodness, this is gorgeous Leslie. Your design is beautiful, love how you used the butterfly die, and added the florals on top, all layered onto the wood grain paper, so so pretty! You have such an eye for detail as in the silver stickles and the hearts on the butterflies. So happy to see your card today, you have inspired me to work on my card order tonight! Enjoy the rest of your day.

A ravishing design of flowers on the oval and I love the delicate background. I would love to know more about the wood grain of the background. How did you do that? It makes for a delicate card. Love it all.

Leslie, this is so delicate and dainty! Love the die and flower spray!

You asked about that 80 lb Arches.....I had it from forever ago in a block, so now I’m not sure if they still carry that weight. I just looked it up and it looks they do carry a 90 lb variety - I think that should work too?
