CAS Christmas Card Challenge: Poinsettia

I'm playing along with the CAS Christmas Card Challenge today.  The theme is "Poinsettia", which made me happy because I'd not yet used this Power Poppy Winter Wonderland stamp set.  It would have been nice to do more than one card, but summer has me firmly in its grip...

I'm not sure if my card is CAS enough for the challenge, but, hey, at least I got another Christmas card done.  Watercolored with Gansai Tambi paints on Arches 140 lb hot pressed watercolor paper.  No embellishments and nothing popped up.  Just an easy card to mail.

Things have been a little busy around here since we returned from vacation.  I'm ready to go again!  Hopefully, I'll have more stamping soon.  Take care!

Gorgeous card and stamp set and colored beautifully. With a card that pretty it doesn't need any embellishments, letting the eye go directly to the image.
Summer does seem busy doesn't it, but it also seems to be speeding by. It's beautiful weather here and makes me want to just go out and enjoy it while we can, but the bugs are terrible, how are they there? Last night this pesky deer came right up to the front door and started eating my lilies, she is way to close to the house and have been driving me (and Mack) nuts for weeks!!

Wow, Leslie, this is gorgeous and so beautifully colored! I was surprised to read that you watercolored it...it looks like Copic markers at first. You've truly mastered the watercolors, and I love the elegant layout! Just enough and definitely very easy to mail. I love it and especially love the sentiment! Stunning card, my friend! Hugs!

Leslie, this is gorgeous! You always know how to capture the beauty of your images with your colouring - beautiful! When I first saw your card in my Feedly, I thought you had copic coloured this. You do such an amazing job with those Gansai Tambi paints- you have good control of the inks. I like that it is flat and no embellishments, sometimes this is best, although I find it hard to keep cards simple. I'm getting a bit better, but always feel like I need to add more! Good for your for adding another Christmas card to your stash. Thanks for sharing such a beauty! Have a wonderful day!

Hi there, Leslie! This card may be easy enough to mail, but you know it's also gorgeous enough to frame! And that's what I would do with it. The traditional colors in the sentiment and DSP are so pretty and I love the colors you chose for the floral watercolor. Exquisite design!
Glad you are enjoying summer!

I know embellishments and popped up elements make a card look better especially on photos... but when it comes to popping it in an envelope... I always regret about adding it!
Your card is beautiful! Lovely coloring !

Absolutely gorgeous watercoloring, Leslie! I don't remember his Power Poppy set. I love Marcella's poinsettia illustrations - I think they are some of the best I've seen. And your watercoloring really showcases this set a festive way. I love the addition of purple - very nice indeed!

That is one stunning card. I love cards that speak for themselves without embellishments (with the side bonus being they are easy to mail).
