Double D Glitter Challenge

Hello there!  I'm playing along with Team Diane's Glitter Challenge at Double D today and I have a very easy card which was partly made for me.  I'll explain in a minute.  First, the card:

Now our very inspiring mood board:

And a super prize for a lucky random winner:

Now, to explain the card...  My friend, Nancy, came over recently and demonstrated alcohol ink backgrounds for me.  She left me with quite a few beautiful backgrounds, so they'll be showing up on cards in the days ahead.  It's easy to see how alcohol inks could become an obsession, sheesh.  This one is inks on acetate, glued to crumpled tissue paper with a little glitter sprinkled in between.

The dies are hers, as well -- Poppystamps "Floral Stem Collage" and "Scribble Thank You".  I pressed the "thank you" into my Versamark pad and then embossed with gold jewel embossing powder.  The flower is glittered up with Stickles glitter glue.  I had a few Nuvo glitter drops made up on an acetate sheet, and the color matched, so I added those, too.

The picture below shows a little more of the sparkle.  It wasn't easy to photograph in such a way as to show the sparkle yet avoid glare on the acetate.

Things are really sparkling over at Double D, so be sure and check out the team's cards.  Enjoy your day!

Gorgeous Leslie! Love the background - gorgeous colours. Your yellow flower pops right off the card - so pretty! I love my alcohol inks, but it's been a long time since I pulled them out. Once you get started it is very addictive, and so many colour combinations! Looking forward to more cards made with your backgrounds. Have a wonderful day!

LOVE your background! And, like Diane, I haven't played with my alcohol inks in a long time ... thanks for inspiration! It really POPs against that white base and the sparkle is just perfect! Another GORGEOUS and INSPIRING work of art! Glad you got to have some crafting fun with a friend! I love it when that happens! LOL

WOW! Your AI background is LOVELY! When your card popped up, I thought, "Hmmmm, Leslie went outside the box! I wonder how she made her background?" I guessed everything but AIs. I need to get mine out and play. They are addictive. Your color combination is so lively! And the variety of "shapes" within the inky goodness is really great! You outdid yourself with the challenge, right down the sentiment being the same glittery perfection as the inspiration board! Hoping the smoke soon lets up for you. How miserable! And yes, I always ponder the respiratory systems of the wildlife when the smoke is heavy. Loving your fantastically ARTSY card, Miss Leslie! xx
