Hello there! It's another cutie pie Penny Black critter card today, sharing the last of the cards I made with the kit I created for the Time to Celebrate set. Once I was settled in for Christmas I made three cards one after the other and there were plenty of grins and giggles in the process. The mouse with balloons drifted in from the Birthday Critters set to help the hedgie celebrate.
When I was having fun with this card sketch I found that Spellbinders Hemstitch Rectangles worked out beautifully in the way they fit with each other. I used an oldie embossing folder for the background, and a flower punch for embellishment. The "celebrate" die is another Cottage Cutz steal-of-a-deal recent purchase. In the photo below I think you can see where the glitter is, but you know it's much prettier in real life.
I felt like I could go on and on with this basic card design, but this is the last of them for now. It's such a great way to use bits of designer paper, and this particular paper is an ages old Memory Box pack I'm trying to use up. I have so many new and/or not-yet-used pretty papers which I plan to break into, but the oldies must be used as well.
I love that you stopped by today and we'll do this again soon. Take care!

This sweet card has definitely started out my morning with a BIG smile Leslie...love it!! So many different elements you brought into this celebratory card...the cute critters for sure, the embossed background, the dsp with the die cut hemstitch, and all the glitter too! Sweet, sweet card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
Such a cute card. Love the critters and your coloring is spot on. You always do such a great job with all your added textures and embellishments.
I've never seen a cuter 'air delivery' on a card before, Leslie! These PB critters are truly adorable as is your birthday card!

I could see more of this layout and love it all the more, Leslie! Those dies make the pretty papers work beautifully with the cute critters. The new sentiment pulls it together delightfully! You've inspired me to cut out some of my own PB critters, you are so good at that!
What an adorable card! Love your little critters having such a great time sending wishes! Your rectangles work so perfectly for this card! I'll have to check them out as I have never seen them before. Have a great weekend. We are under a freezing/snow alert so we won't be going out!
So cute, Leslie, you always color critters and flowers so beautifully!
These two sure know how to celebrate! This is extra cute, Leslie!
It's hard to find the time to use the new and the old, well loved toys! These critters are so adorable and I love all the movement and the story the images tell. I have to admit that when I first saw the bow on the tag, I thought he had some scissors. LOL, I'm glad he's not on his way to letting the banner loose! Such fun, Leslie!
so cute and fun, the two sets work great together, I love your background panels with it too, great sparkle on the sentiment and Love the springling of the flowers to top it off, such a pretty touch! I agree, I like to use a mix of old and new :)
Brilliant card Leslie. I have those hemstitch dies and would never have thought to use them like that. Thanks so much for the inspiration xx
