Four Cards, Same Layout

Hi, friends!  Today I'm sharing the last four 2025 Christmas cards I've made and mailed.  I fell back on an old favorite go-to layout and I have to say it was wonderful fun!  Easy cards, nothing spectacular, just a little designer paper and simple dies.  It was liberating.

Lately I've enjoyed making basic card designs and setting them aside for future use.  I like today's design for its versatility -- change the size or orientation, dress it up any which way.  For the basic design I used Spellbinders Fluted Classic Rectangles and Taylored Expressions Stitched Rectangle Stacklets.

First we have Spellbinders Conrad Cardinal and Penny Black's Joy Edger.  Love me some Conrad!  It's a first time use for him.  You can't see his eye because it's closed.  He's so cute!

Older dies were used for the next card -- Memory Box Bauble Snowflakes and a retired Stampin' Up sentiment die.

Another -- exactly the same as Card #2, but with different designer paper.

Finally, I had a paper-covered card base sitting in my spare parts for maybe 2 years.  I pulled it out and added the center parts from the same paper pack.  The extra paper changed the look quite a bit.  I featured a not-yet-used Cottage Cutz Deer Set and a rather funky branch from Tim Holtz Sizzix Holiday Greens, Mini.  The sentiment was die cut from one of the commercial cards we received from someone sometime.  Just a little bit of recycling.

Well, that was fun!  I'm ready to get back to non-Christmas cards now as I stamped a LOT of NBUS and bagged them up individually with potential fixin's for their cards.  I always get excited when the Christmas cards are finished!

Sharing here:

NBUS Challenge #81 -- My never before used schtuff today is Conrad Cardinal on the first card and the Cottage Cutz deer on the fourth card.

Take care and enjoy your weekend, however you choose to spend it!

Beautiful, Leslie!! Thanks for this post today. I received one of these cards and it inspired me to make some similar to it. I looked through your blog to link to my card, but I couldn't find it. And now it's here! Thanks for the card - I love it. (I will link to this post when I do mine.)

Lovely cards Leslie. I’m so glad it’s only 11 days and we’ll be into next year… and all the hullabaloo will be gone… take care my friend.

Your card design is an oldie but a goodie! Keeping things simple this time of year can be so gratifying. Conrad is darling.... He looks proud as a peacock! All your cards are fantastic and such a great way to use up paper scraps too. Delightful all around!

I can see why you loved the layouts of these cards, it is fabulous and a great way to show off those large sentiments too, I have never thought to make backgrounds ahead, guess I am too busy with all these crazy challenges we run. Anyhow, I really love the designs of these cards and might have to case it in the future (if I ever have time)!! Have a very Merry Christmas!!

Leslie, I think your base design is fantastic - anytime we can sneak in more of that patterned paper, right? I love all four cards - you have just added Mr. Conrad to my wish list - thanks for the introduction!
Merry Christmas! xx

Leslie, your cards always have that trademark happiness in them. Whether it’s in the actual featured image, or the paper choices, or the colors you’ve used, there is always great joy in seeing one of your beautiful cards. Loving that these all used the same sketch, and yet have a completely different feel, just because of the elements and colors. Thanks for sharing your lovely inspiration today. xx

That little Mister Conrad sure is a cutie! These are all delightful, Leslie. What a great design as your jumping off point. Each one different, yet similar and fabulous!

They are all so pretty. I love it when I find a layout I like and can use over and over with just a little tweek here and there.

This is a fantastic sketch and packs a powerful punch! Conrad is such fun and I look forward to seeing more of him! You always mix and match patterned paper so well. They always look meant to be. I wish I had that talent. Maybe I wouldn't have such a stash. It is a good feeling to have those Christmas cards done and in the mail!

OMG ... look at you go!! What a GREAT idea to use this same basic design and give it four totally different looks! Glad I don't have to choose a favorite! LOL I struggled a bit this year with cards ... not sure if it was a good thing or bad thing but I SOLD too many of my Christmas cards at the craft show (didn't see that coming) and ended up having to create another 20 or so cards for myself! I'm not fond of 'assembly line cards' but that's the direction I turned for my crafty friends this year and was a huge time saver for me.
Hard to believe Christmas is literally 'right around the corner' ... I still have a few things to do and as long as the weather holds up, I should be able to 'Get R Done!' LOL
Merry Christmas to you & your family my friend! Here's too a happy & healthy 2026!

I am so loving that design and how you were able to make them all look different by what you used, great selection of papers and I love that cardinal and how you balanced the deer with the branch!

what a great group of Xmas cards you designed with only a few changes. Each one is unique and different then the others but great way to do some assembly line cards!
